“Don’t thank me yet, Enzo. Not until the Russians are no longer an issue. Only then can we discuss how awesome I am,” I try to lighten the mood in an effort to distract myself from the raw emotions he elicits within me.

“Come home to me,Bella,” he murmurs before ending the call, and I quickly tuck my phone away as I turn my focus to the gun in my other pocket.

Matteo turns off the main road, cutting across a field as the explosion site nears. When he pulls the vehicle to a stop, it looks like pure chaos on the other side of the tree line before us, and without a hint of hesitation, we all leap from the SUV and run toward the carnage.

I take the safety off my gun as I hear the others do the same. Even Valentina is locked and loaded.

As we approach the flames, gunshots ring out from the other side, but my view’s obstructed by the damn smoke. I wave my hand for the others to follow as I stick to the tree line, making my way around the edge of the cemetery, when a man steps out of nowhere with his gun aimed in my direction.

I clasp the bottom of my weapon, ready to take my shot in an instant, but before I even pull the trigger, I hear the sound of a bullet slicing through the air. My worry is short-lived as the man aiming his gun at me falls to the ground with a thump.

Glancing around, I can’t truly sense where the bullet came from, but my gut tells me it was a sniper, and there’s only one sniper known to be that good that I’m aware of.

“West.”

Edging toward the dead man on the ground, I find the bullet lodged perfectly between his eyes, and I know it’s him. I silently thank him before glancing to Valentina, who is gaping at the lifeless body on the ground.

Fuck. Is she not familiar with this side of the business?

Before I can ask, Vito wraps his arm around her shoulder as he continues to move her along. “That shot was amazing as hell,” she whispers in disbelief, before a bubble of manic laughter bursts from her lips, leaving me to be the one gaping at her.

Well, shit.

“Wren, over here.” I follow the sound of a voice I’m familiar with, to find Luna sticking her head out from behind a mausoleum. Her brown hair is swept back off her face as she wears a similar outfit to me, dressed head to toe in black, but as I step closer, I notice the splattering of blood covering her.

“Is everyone okay?” I ask, concern getting the better of me as I quickly round the back of the mausoleum to find Jess, Kai, and Maverick there too.

Each of them is fully loaded with guns and ammunition, and likely a blade hiding in a place or two as well. Jess side-eyes me, which is less than I expect, but I don’t let myself get hung up on it as I turn my attention back to Luna.

“Everyone is okay. This is the remains of a Russian,” she explains, waving her hand down her clothes, and I sigh in relief.

“Tell me where we’re needed.” Matteo comes to a stop beside me, barely keeping his gaze fixed on anyone as he continues to assess our surroundings.

“I could use you with me,” Maverick explains, nodding for him to follow his path, and Matteo takes off without a backward glance, while Vito points at Kai.

“Show me where Dmitri is.”

Kai doesn’t respond right away, stepping toward Luna to press a kiss on her forehead, before finally waving for Vito to follow him.

If this was anyone else, you would assume the men are leaving the women here while they handle the situation. Only, the four of us aren’t your usual women.

“Tell me where the other cunt is that we’re aiming for.” Valentina moves to stand beside Jess just as shots fly by us, and I quickly press my back into the stone of the mausoleum with my gun poised.

“Dmitri is hiding behind the caretaker's building, that’s where Kai is taking Vito, and I think Maverick is likely leading Matteo toward Aleksi, Dmitri’s brother. If we can bring those two down, the rest will crumble. But it’s them that we need to get through since they have them spread out so wide,” Luna explains, just before a loud grunt to our right captures our attention.

Roman fucking Rivera pounds his fists into the flesh of a guy again and again and again, until his weapon drops from his hand, leaving him even more vulnerable to the Featherstone trained assassin. Once he’s sure the fucker is no longer breathing, he drops him to the floor like he’s nothing before turning to glance at Luna.

“Let’s go before she starts dry-humping him for being all manly and shit,” Jess announces, eye rolling her friend as Luna scoffs in response.

“Please, I fucking wouldn’t and you know it.”

“Uh-huh, just like you wouldn’t fuck him in the gym at Ace block,” Jess retorts, making my eyes widen as I bite back a grin, watching as Luna gapes at her, but the fun and games are quickly interrupted by a bullet lodging into the stone right beside Valentina’s head.

“We need to move. Now,” I state, heading for the trees where the bullet must have come from.

Everything else drifts into the background as I catch a flash of hair floating in the breeze from behind a tree, and I take aim. I keep moving one foot in front of the other, only slowing slightly now as I push all of my attention to the target.

Exhaling once more, I pause just as they spin back out from behind the tree with their gun pointed in my direction, but it’s already too late. I pulled the trigger one thousandth of a second after I noticed a hint of movement on their end, and my bullet hits them square in the chest, bringing them to their knees before they ultimately fall flat on their face.
