Gray matches my curse, only he mumbles his out loud while I manage to keep my lips closed. Panicking, I start glancing around the room like I can see through walls, but I have no idea where anything is in here so I don’t know where to look.

“I need a t-shirt, Gray. ”

He drags the top drawer open on the chest of drawers beside the bedroom window, pulling out a plain white tee and tossing it in my direction, before pulling a black one over his own head. His cut quickly follows, along with his jeans and boots as I move toward Emmett.

“Where is he?” I ask, but Emmett quickly shakes his head dismissively at me.

“You’re not fucking coming,” he grunts, like I’m being completely ridiculous, but it’s clear neither of them have ever dealt with anything like this before.

“You’re going to want me there. And if you’re correct, we don’t have much time, so lead the fucking way.”

* * *

I step out into the hallway without glancing back, and when I notice all of the doors closed in this part of the building, I know they’re not here.

Pushing the door open to the bar area, I hear Gray call out my name, but I don’t slow my pace as I pad along the sticky wooden floor in bare feet.I’ve walked on much worse.I have no idea what time it is, but there are still a few stragglers in here. The main attraction is two guys fucking two girls between them as they make out.

Hot.

Pity they weren’t around earlier to distract the attention away from me. When I don’t catch sight of Ryker or Axel, I glance over my shoulder and my eyes instantly meet Emmett’s as he nods toward the main door.

I step out into the cold night air, a shiver running through my body. Hearing footsteps right behind me, I know Gray and Emmett are closer now, so I wait for them to fall into step with me before I continue.

There’s no point in leading the way if I don’t actually have a fucking clue where we’re going.

Emmett’s strides are longer than my own, forcing me to move my legs faster as I work to keep up with the pair of them.

“So, catch me up to speed,” Gray grumbles, rubbing his hands together as he glances up at the night sky for a second, before swiping his hands down his face.

“There’s not much else I can say, except that he’s out in the garage and it looks like he’s in a bad way.”

“What does a bad way even fucking look like?” Gray pushes back, clearly not familiar with someone in this state, and I sigh, interrupting their conversation before Emmett has a chance to answer.

“Have you called for an EMT?” I ask, wrapping my arms around my waist as I push past the cold threatening to take a hold of me. The second those three letters leave my lips, they both whip their heads in my direction. They’re looking at me like I just grew a second head.

“Are you sure you’re familiar with how an MC works, sweet cheeks? Because EMTs are never the first port of call,” Gray grunts, raising his brow at me, and I sigh. I am familiar, but I thought that was just a Reaper thing, to be honest. It’s stupid as fuck.

“There they are,” Emmett states, redirecting everyone’s attention as I glance toward the garage and find Ryker hovering over Axel on the ground.

“What the fuck took you so long?” Ryker bites, glancing up at the three of us, the pain evident on his face as his hands continue to grip his friend's cut. “And what the fuck is she doing here? This is private. Fuck off.”

I ignore his words as I continue to step closer to them, dropping down to my knees on the other side of Axel. The rough floor bites into my knees, but I swallow down the groan and focus on the man before me.

“How long has he been like this?” I ask, glancing over Axel’s form a few times as Ryker scoffs.

“Did you not hear me? I told you to fuck off.”

Inhaling deeply, I release a heavy breath before I tilt my gaze to his. “I’m helping in ways you guys clearly fucking can’t, but if you’ve got this, just say the word and I’ll leave. Just remember, that puts his life completely inyourhands.”

My eyes are wide despite how fucking tired and disorientated I am, but this is something I’ve experienced before. The middle of the night is always when I’m needed, it seems.

“Fuck. Just tell me what to do.”

Shaking my head, I disregard him as I lean in closer and brush Axel’s loose brown hair back off his neck so I can press the tips of my fingers against his pulse. The second I make contact, Ryker’s hand grips my wrist, ready to yank me off him, but I quickly lift my other hand, silently pleading with him to give me a second as I close my eyes and count.

I run my tongue over my lips, grateful when he doesn’t follow through on his action until I blink open my eyes. “His pulse isn’t too weak. If we could get him seen by someone, they would be able to flush liquids through his system, but I’m assuming you’re as dumb in your ways with no medical training like these two buttheads,” I murmur, looking directly at Ryker.

Fucking fools.
