“She’s been with Garrick a long time. We’ve both known her since we were kids. She’s well aware of how our relationships work.” He explained, pulling her along with him.

“He told you? That he kissed me?” She whispered as though saying it too loudly would change the atmosphere in the house.

“He did. And I’m glad.” He squeezed her arm when it felt like she would pull back again. “You’re ours now, Ariella. Both of ours, at least for the time being.” He glanced down at her, checking for any signs that she was going to bolt.

She looked toward Garrick. He stood in his office doorway, a scowl on his lips.

“He’s mad,” she whispered.

“He is,” Bastian agreed. “Inside.” He let go of her arm and gestured for her to enter the office.

“Garrick. I’m sorry, I should have called you–”

“Not yet, Ariella. Get inside.” Bastian gave her a little shove to get her moving.

“In front of the desk,” Garrick directed.

“She’s hiding her nerves,” Bastian said as she took meticulous steps toward the desk. Heel, toe, heel toe, slow and steady until she was in the position she’d been directed.

“She’s not going to be hiding anything anymore,” Garrick stated flatly.

“She’s new to us, Garrick.”

Garrick’s eyes snapped to Bastian. “Are you telling me to take it easy on her?”

“No.” It would be useless to tell him something like that. “I’m telling you, the spanking I gave her was the first time she’d ever been truly punished. She’s not like the other girls we’ve had. That’s all I’m saying.”

Garrick’s lips curled at the ends. “You protect her too much, Bastian. She’s much stronger than you think.”

Bastian knew how strong she was, but she was breakable. He wouldn’t let anyone break her, not even Garrick.

“Princess.” Garrick shut the door behind Bastian and turned his attention to the woman at hand. “Strip.”

Ariella snapped her gaze to Bastian, looking for help.

None would come.

CHAPTER16

Ariella

“I don’t wantto repeat myself,” Garrick said, taking casual steps toward her, leaving Bastian at the doorway. Ariella’s stomach tumbled as realization rushed over her that Bastian would be no help to her. Just as Garrick did nothing to stop Bastian, Bastian would not interfere now.

“Garrick.” She tried to pull his attention to her, but he was busy digging through a drawer in his desk.

“This morning, what did we talk about?” He asked while closing one drawer to rifle in another.

She swallowed, trying to get her throat to loosen up.

“I know what I said, and I know you’re upset, and you have every reason to be upset, but…I…just please.” There was no getting him to reconsider. In her heart of hearts, she knew it. But she couldn’t just surrender. She had to try.

He glanced up from his search.

“You’re still dressed.” He arched an eyebrow. “Are you trying to make it worse?”

“What? No…I…” She stopped talking because there was nothing else to say. She’d told him that morning she understood what would happen if she got herself in trouble. And the one thing, the one specific thing they’d both told her not to do, she’d gone and did.
