Garrick’s brow wrinkled.

“She probably has spies,” he said. “I wouldn’t worry about it. This is going to be done soon. Your father will be home from his trip, and Bastian and I will speak to him.” His expression softened. “We’ll speak to him, all three of us.”

She took a slow breath, reminding herself that neither of them would allow anything bad to happen to her. Even her father couldn’t hurt her with them at her side.

“My father is going to be angry that I’m not marrying Chad,” she said. She’d nearly forgotten about Chad. It was good that she never made it to that party; they never officially met. Chad probably hadn’t given her a second thought either.

“He’ll accept it.” Garrick lifted the papers in his hands. “First. What are these?” He shook the papers.

She squinted at them as though she had no idea what he was holding, but that only lasted a moment. A low growl emitting from Garrick’s chest cut her act short.

“They are apartments I was looking at.” She plucked them from his hand and dropped them on the piano. “I was just looking, Garrick.”

“Did you not understand what we said? That the three of us, we belong together.” Garrick looked almost nervous.

“I do understand, but Garrick, be reasonable. This has all gone so fast you don’t really know if you feel that way about me. You and Bastian know how you feel about each other, but the three of us as a group? It’s so soon.” She hated every word dropping from her lips. She didn’t need more time to know how she felt about them. When they weren’t home, she missed them. She missed them when she was on the other side of the house. But she had to be realistic.

Garrick stared at her for a long pause, his eyes darkening.

“You squish your mouth up to the right side when you’re thinking hard about something. Like when you’re working on your music, trying to decide which chord to start with.” He pointed to the piano. “You chew on the end of your hair when you’re learning a new song.”

She’d never paid much attention to those habits, but he was right. She did both of those things.

“You like your eggs scrambled but not runny. You practically eat them overcooked.” He stepped closer to her, gobbling up the safety of the space. “You hate water, but you’ll drink it if it’s flavored. You have the most beautiful voice I’ve heard in a long time.” He took another step, advancing until she was pushed back against the side of the piano. “You don’t want to disappoint your father by going your own path, but you know you’ll die if you stay in Caspian living beneath his watch. You are the most stubborn girl I’ve known.”

When he came toe to toe with her, she pressed her hands against his chest.

“You love having your clit sucked. You like the pain we give you, but only when there’s pleasure to mix with it.” He caged her in with his hands leaning on the piano. “And even without a long discussion, you get me and Bastian. You are aroused by our desire for each other as much as we are.” He knuckled her chin until his mouth hovered right over hers. “Whatever I don’t know yet about you, I’m going to enjoy learning, even if it takes the rest of our lives.” He framed her face with his hands and took possession of her with a kiss.

“I go out for an hour, and you two can’t keep your hands off each other?” Bastian’s voice carried over them.

Garrick broke the kiss but continued staring into her eyes.

“Our girl here has been looking at apartments. She thinks we’re not serious about wanting her with us from now on,” he said, holding her gaze captive.

“She can look,” Bastian said casually. “I mean, we’ll probably have to put the word out to every landlord in the city that she’s not welcome as a renter, but she can look all she wants.” Bastian made his way to the piano.

Ariella frowned.

“You two are impossible,” she said.

Garrick grinned. “Remember that, Princess. There’s nowhere to run or hide that we won’t find you and drag you back here.”

“You make it sound so romantic. Being loved against your will.” She pushed against his chest playfully.

“Loved?” Garrick tilted his head. Her cheeks flamed. She hadn’t meant to say that word. Love was much different than obsession. But love?

“Ah, she finally gets it?” Bastian chuckled and picked up the pages on the piano. “I’m gonna throw these away. Garrick let the girl go. She’s expecting a call.”

Garrick winked and then pushed away from the piano.

“She already got the call.”

“Ursa said the delivery will be at the Electra lounge at ten o’clock.” Ariella slid to the side, away from Garrick, snagging her phone up as she relayed the rest of the information her aunt had given her, along with the threat.

“Let her tell Henry.” Bastian shrugged.

“You’re awfully relaxed today.” Bastian was a stickler for rules and boundaries. Having a relationship with Henry’s daughter definitely broke all that; shouldn’t he be at least worried about it?
