She stared at him a long moment. Everything she’d learned colored her view of her father, but he was still her father. Still, the man that raised her and doted on her. He seemed sincere.

“I’d like it if you came to the wedding,” she said softly, lightly touching his arm.

He grinned. “I would be honored to attend your wedding.”

Ariella didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward and threw her arms around her father.

“We’d be happy to have you.” Bastian shook Henry’s hand once Ariella backed up. “Right, Garrick?” He prompted.

Garrick’s frown remained unmoved. “He’s her father. Of course, he can come.”

Ariella squeezed Garrick’s hand.

“He’ll walk me down the aisle.” She gave him an easy smile, holding his gaze until his jaw finally eased.

“If that’s what you want, Princess.” He nodded.

“It is.”

“Who am I to deny you anything?” He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed the inside of her wrist. “But he’s not staying at our house.”

“I have a room at Tower,” Henry interjected. “It’s a nice room. I’m fine there.”

Ariella rolled her eyes at Garrick. “He’s my father.”

“I wouldn’t push it, Princess,” Garrick warned.

Henry chuckled. “It’s good to see you so happy, Ariella,” Henry said. “You have a show to get ready for. I’d like to see you after if that’s all right? Dinner?”

“Yes!” Ariella nodded. “And tomorrow. We’re having dinner with Jackson, that’s Garrick’s brother, and his wife. You should come too.”

“Ariella,” Bastian muttered.

“I think that’s a wonderful idea.” Henry raised his eyebrow at Bastian. “If it’s all right with you, I suppose.”

“It’s fine.” Bastian sighed. “Garrick?”

“I think Mr. Trident should find his seat so Ariella can get her dress on. She’s due on stage in five minutes.” Garrick tapped his watch.

“Of course.” Henry hugged Ariella once more and kissed her temple. “I’ll see you after.”

She walked him to the door.

“Tomorrow night?” Garrick raised his eyebrow at Ariella once the door was closed again.

“It’s a family dinner. He’s family.” She shrugged. “You said I could see him whenever I wanted.”

“We did.” Garrick nodded.

“And we’re family, right? Us three?”

“Yes,” Bastian said firmly.

“Then he belongs there tomorrow.” She nodded. Decision made. “Now. I need to get dressed.”

Garrick caught her by the arm as she passed him and pulled her in for a hug. Reaching out, he yanked Bastian toward them. She was effectively sandwiched between them, feeling more love and security than anyone could stand.

“I love you guys. You know that,” she said, squeezing them as best she could. “If having him around is uncomfortable for you-”
