Then the huge wolf was suddenly in my face, snapping and snarling angrily—it was Drake and he clearly wanted revenge for what I had done to him.

“You hurt Drake, you little bitch!” Billy snarled at me, still holding onto my wrist with an iron grip I couldn’t break. “I reckon he wants to show you what happens to bitches who don’t behave. Now get on your knees for breeding!”

“No! Fuck you! Get off me!” I shrieked, fighting him with all my might.

I didn’t have to fake my fear and disgust—the touch of his skin against mine was making me nearly out of my mind with loathing. Being touched by these two—especially intimately—was a fate worse than death. I didn’t know if my mind could stand it—I might break and go crazy if they took me. It would be worst than rape—it would be a violation beyond anything my mind had words for.

Suddenly a gunshot rang through the forest and the wolf, which was snapping in my face, gave a high whine and toppled over. It continued whining and whimpering so I knew it wasn’t dead, but it was certainly out of commission for a minute.

“What the fuck?” Billy gasped, looking around, wide-eyed, though he didn’t let go of my arm. His eyes got even wider as someone stepped out of the forest—a big man with a shotgun.

His face was in shadows so I didn’t know him at first. But then a stray gust of wind brought me the scent of fur and pine needles and bonfires and dark, masculine spice.

“Daddy!” I sobbed, reaching for him with my free hand. “Daddy Jack—help me!”

“I’m going to, Princess,” Jack growled, taking another step towards me and Billy, who was still staring like he couldn’t believe it.

“Holy shit, Mister—you shot Drake,” he blurted at last.

“That’s right, pup—and I’m going to shoot you too if you don’t let go of my little girl right fucking now!” Jack cocked the shotgun and leveled it at Billy’s chest. “This time I’ll be shooting to kill,” he added and his voice was cold—I had no doubt he’d do it.

Billy looked down and seemed to realize that he was still holding onto my wrist with one meaty hand. He dropped it like my skin had burned him and I nearly sobbed with relief to not have him touching me anymore.

I jumped up and ran to throw my arms around Jack, making sure to stay on the side away from the shotgun.

“Did they hurt you, Princess?” he asked, never taking his eyes—or the gun—off Billy, who was frozen in terror. “Did they hurt my baby girl?”

“N-no, Daddy,” I told him. I was still shaking and crying, which made it hard to talk. “They…they were going to, though. Drake said…said he was going to breed me in his…his Fur Form.”

“That’s a lie!” Billy squeaked in a high, frightened voice. “Drake would never break an Unbreakable Law!”

“Then why is he in his Fur Form?” Jack nodded down at the still whimpering wolf. It was up on its feet again, but limping—it looked like he’d shot it in the back haunch. Drake would live, but he was going to have trouble sitting down for a good long time, I thought with some satisfaction.

“He was just trying to sniff her out—honest!” Billy whined.

“He’s lying,” I said flatly. I was regaining control of myself now that Jack was here beside me. “He said he was going to…to breed me in Fur Form first and then he and Billy were going to…to double knot me.” I could scarcely get the words out, but the truth needed to be spoken.

Jack’s eyes flashed gold in the moonlight.

“You two little fuckers,” he growled at Billy, his voice going about an octave lower with rage. “How dare you try to hurt my little girl like that?”

“We were just gonna breed her—it’s an Open Breeding!” Billy protested, backing away. “You can’t interfere with an Open Breeding—it’s against Pack Law!”

“It’s also against Pack Law to breed a female in Fur Form or to double team a bitch unless she asks you to,” Jack barked at him. “Let alone anal knotting—that tears a female up inside! What the fuck is wrong with you two?”

“We just wanted to have some fun—nobody every said anything about not being able to do those things before!” Billy whined. “Just please—don’t shoot me!”

Jack narrowed his eyes.

“I’ll give the two of you a five second head start. After that, I start shooting. And if I ever see either one of you sniffing around my baby girl again, I’ll blow both your heads off!” He resettled the gun on his shoulder, obviously taking aim and said, “One.”

Billy gave him one last frightened look and took off into the forest with Drake limping at his heels.

“Two!” Jack shouted at their fleeing backs. “Three! Four!”
