I position myself over her, taking my time - going slowly against the initial resistance and slow movement till she asks for faster. I slide into her inch by inch - feeling her delicious heat around me and hearing her moan softly as I thrust deeper and deeper.

Her hips tilt up to meet mine as she wraps her legs around me; the pleasure of our bodies moving in perfect harmony sends us both soaring higher and higher.

"Adrian," she moans, "continue. Just like this."

I nod, maintaining the pace. "Oh my god," she mewls like a cat, now moving her hips in sync with my thrusts. "Baby, just go a little faster, a little harder."

I continue as per her instructions. "If you carry on like this, I'll cum. Just like this ..."

I carry on just like that, finding my own orgasm. I wait until I feel her thighs quiver, her body shake, and every inch of her resistance crumble. She lets herself loose and orgasms. As each muscle of her pussy tightens around me, I find my own peak as I find my pleasure draining into the condom.

Breathless, exhausted, and utterly happy, I crawl up to her, claiming her lips as my own once again. Our bodies are intertwined, our passion and love for each other evident in every touch and kiss. She falls asleep in my arms.

CHAPTER 29

OLIVIA

“I’msogladtobe back,” I say as we find a moment alone in his office. He pulls away and cups my face with his hands. "I'd do anything for you, Olivia," he says.

"Anything like what?" I ask, raising an eyebrow suggestively.

"Oh, you know what," he replies, caressing the back of my neck lightly with his thumb as a shiver runs down my spine. His gaze shifts to my mouth as he leans in to kiss.

But then a loud banging from the hallway interrupts us. We look out to see that a woman had arrived, clearly unaware that he had already stepped away to his office with me.

He steps in front of me while holding up his finger, signaling for her to wait. She sees us now.

"Let her see," he whispers in my ear, a mischievous glint in his eye. He leans down and kisses me briefly again before whispering, "If I could have it my way, you'll be my wife someday."

I laugh as I swat him away playfully. “No seriously,” he asks. “What do you think of the idea?”

“Marriage?”

“Yeah?” he asks, gently putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

“It’s an idea I’ve toyed with, on and off. More now than ever before,” I whisper.

“Well, a head full of secrets, aren’t you Ms. Miller?” he says, giving me a gentle kiss on the cheek. We part ways so he can greet this woman he has to meet. I notice her on the way out. She nods at me, but I ignore her. I don’t know why, but I feel a pang of jealousy.

Adrian has been acting stranger than usual. Every time I walk into his office, he's with this woman who doesn't work around here. I'm not sure if I should be nervous, and I hate to admit this, but what if he's lost interest?

He's also hiding his phone when he gets a text around me. He takes calls somewhere I can't hear him. He puts his coat away safely, not letting me touch it - even when he's at my place.

It's making me scared, angsty. On a different note, my father has grown familiarly warm with Adrian and now spends Sundays with Emily, Adrian, and me. But it seems like Adrian and I are going through a rough patch, and I feel like we're putting on a show around my dad.

I want to discuss this with someone, but who? I fought to have Adrian by my side, and now, I simply don't wish to admit I may have been wrong. Speaking to someone would make me say things I was afraid to admit even to myself.

My thoughts are spiraling out of control, and it is with this in mind, that I decide to text him.

"We need to talk."

"Over dinner tonight work?" he responds.

"Sure," I text back. "Where should I meet you?"

"You don't. I'll pick you up and, Olivia, don't bother with clothes and hair. We're going somewhere fancy. Just open the door when the bell rings."

Okay, this is strange, and at any other point, I wouldn't have gone along with these surprises he's throwing my way, but I'm just so exhausted that an argument is beyond me. "Whatever you say," I text back.
