To my amazement, the doors burst open, and throngs of people enter - my dad, Emily, her babysitter, my friends, our colleagues, his friends, and family!
Everyone is looking at us, clapping and smiling, and I feel dizzy with joy. At the same time, I feel self-conscious, but Adrian leads me confidently forward. "Ladies and gentlemen," he says, his voice carrying over the music. "May I introduce you to my future wife!"
A murmur of approval goes through the crowd, and I feel myself blushing deeply. I'm not used to being the center of attention like this.
But then Adrian takes me into his arms, and everything falls into place.
Tonight, the world is magical, and I can't believe he pulled this off.
"Thank you," I whisper in his ear, as he gently leans forward and kisses me on the forehead. "And did you put Emily up to babysitting me tonight?"
"I did," he laughs. "I was scared you'd run off once you saw the team I sent."
"I almost did," I say just as Emily and my dad come over to congratulate us.
"Oh Olivia," Emily giggles, reaching up for me to pick her up, which I do. "I'm so happy. Daddy says you'll live with us now."
"Well, soon," I laugh. "I'll live with you soon."
"And I can't wait to walk you down the aisle," my dad says, pulling me close for a hug. "That's a fine man you've got there. I realized that when he asked for my permission to marry you."
"Oh, Dad," I wipe away a tear. I look around myself - Emily, Adrian, and my father. I was the happiest woman alive.
CHAPTER 30
ADRIAN
Tonighthasbeenoneof the happiest nights of my life and as for Olivia, I swear God sent an angel my way.
When I watched her walk down that aisle, I momentarily forgot where I was. She looked radiant. And now, while we fool around at the back of this car, I only have one thought running through my mind - I am the only man in this world who gets to call her mine.
And I can't wait to undress her.
The minute the car rides up to the villa, I help Olivia out of the car, and pick her up in my arms.
"Hello, Mrs. Carter," I whisper, giving her a kiss, before leading her through the threshold.
"Oh, Adrian," she smiles, looking around at the beautiful villa. I put her down and close the door behind me. "This place is beautiful."
The stone facade of the villa stands out against the night sky, a grand entrance looking over the vibrant garden gardens. Everywhere I look brings a smile to my face - there's something so special about this place that fills my entire being with joy.
We enter the house through one of its many wings and step into a huge living area with an opulent chandelier hanging from the high ceiling. The walls are adorned with elaborately carved woodwork and tapestries while tall marble columns line the hallway in between two separate wings.
As we explore around, Olivia gasps in awe at every corner we turn. "This is perfect," Olivia whispers softly against my lips as she takes in everything around us. "I don't think I'd ever want to leave."
I smile. "We can always come back," I whisper. “Just tell me when and I’ll book it out for you.”
She throws her arms around my neck, hugging me tight. "Thank you," she whispers. "This is a beautiful space and just perfect for tonight.”
I kiss her deeply, feeling the passion and love between us intensify. And then, without any warning, I sweep her off her feet and carry her towards the one section of the house I've been dying to show her.
"Where are we going?" she asks, laughing.
"To the best surprise of all," I say. I carry her to the spa room which houses the pool and Jacuzzi. I place her on her feet and observe her expression. Her eyes widen at the sight of the two huge fountains spraying water into intricate pools surrounded by marble statues and landscaping stone sculptures; even in this dim lighting, they looked tranquil and ethereal.
"Wow," she says. "Just, wow."
I take one look at Olivia's face, and I know what she is thinking; time for these clothes to come off.
