“You can thank Molly for the interior. She has a knack for those things.”

It takes a moment before her mouth falls open. “Molly? Holy shit, you own this place?”

“Not just me. It’s me and my brothers.”

Her eyes scan the restaurant again.

“This is amazing. Anything else you own you want to tell me about?”

“Some.” She shakes her head, imploring me to go on. “We’ve been lucky. About five years ago we set up King Industries and we’ve had some successful business ventures.”

She leans back in her chair with a sigh. “What an impressive way to start a first date.”

She remains a little wide-eyed and fascinated as we order our drinks. “You know, you’re really taking the whole ‘wide-eyed tourist’ thing to the next level,” I tease.

“Oh, come on. You can’t blame me for being impressed. This place is amazing.”

“I never said it wasn’t. It cost enough,” I reply with a smirk. “But try to act a little more nonchalant You’re making me look bad.”

She narrows her eyes, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. “Alright, Mr. King. How’s this for nonchalant?” She leans back in her seat., trying to look aloof but failing miserably as she nearly tips over.

Reaching out, I catch her before she falls. “You might want to work on that,” I say, smirking. “You almost made a scene.”

She laughs. “Well, it wouldn’t be a proper date if I didn’t embarrass myself at least once, right?”

“Pace yourself, woman. There’s still plenty of time.”

We fall into easy conversation just like we always do, but when the food arrives, I’ve lost her completely. Her eyes roll back in her head, and she makes noises I’ve only heard women moan when they’re under me.

“Good?” I ask, unable to take my eyes off her.

Another groan of pleasure. “Too good.”

And that’s it.

That’s all I get.

Conversation ceases until she’s finished with what I can only describe as a food orgasm.

Life should be experienced how Beth is eating her food.

Sensing my eyes on her, her fork halts midway to her mouth.

“Please, continue. Watching you is fascinating.”

She shakes her head with a smile.

The vibration of a plane flying over the restaurant is the only thing to distract her.

“Another plane?” she asks, her voice filled with curiosity as she watches it fly overhead.

“Private charters. It’s a thing here.”

“Interesting.” She takes another bite, slowly savoring it. “Tell me something else.”

“What do you want to know?”

“Tell me something that no one else knows.”
