Molly appears from the kitchen with a fresh batch of cookies. “What’s climbed up your ass today?”

“Remind me to never volunteer to organize a wedding again. She’s my cousin and I love her, but she’s Satan.”

“Emily?” Molly questions.

An unexpected flame of jealousy burns in my belly.

Jesus, as if I don’t have enough emotions to contend with today. I have zero right to be jealous.

She nods. “I can’t blame her. The photographer she booked cancelled last minute. She planned her entire wedding around this guy.”

“That’s rough. I’m going to put an extra shot of espresso in your cup.”

I swear she almost cries. “Bless you, Beth. I always knew you were going to be a good friend.” She blows out a shaky breath as her shoulders round forward. “With two weeks to what she’s calling, The Wedding of the Century, I need to find a photographer.”

“It’s wedding central here. Isn’t there plenty of photographers?” I ask.

“You’d think. But she needs someone she can trust. She can’t risk the photos being leaked right away. Her security is tighter than the secret service as it is.”

“You sure coffee is going to be strong enough?”

“I went to the bar first,” she confesses. “Archer wouldn’t serve me. He said that I never drink this early and come back when his shift ends so he doesn’t have to listen to me complain.”

Molly rolls her eyes. “That’s my husband, ladies. Archer King. The charmer.”

“Please,” Eden scoffs. “He hugged me while he said it. He’s the only man capable of insulting me and comforting me at the same time.” Her train of thought comes to an abrupt stop when she catches sight of Molly putting the cookies on display. “Are those gluten free?”

Me and Molly share a confused look. I’m pretty sure I served her a sandwich yesterday that was far from gluten free.

“Since when are you not eating gluten?” Molly asks.

“I happen to be very conscious about what I put into my body.”

Molly places the tray on the counter and crosses her arms over her chest. “Really?”

“Always.”

“Didn’t you sleep with Jaxson?”

I almost drop the coffee cup. “What? How am I only finding this out now?”

“Don’t encourage her, Beth,” Eden whines, grimacing.

I pour the frothed milk into the cup and pass it to her over the counter. “I didn’t know you and Jaxson were a thing.”

The only King brother I have yet to meet… again.

“We weren’t. It was brief and a long time ago. A mistake never to be repeated. I would rather gouge my eyes out and pour salt on the wounds.”

“Wow.”

Molly clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth, disbelieving as she rests her hip against the counter and turns to face me, mischief dancing in her blue eyes. “The best orgasm she ever had.”

Eden doesn’t even flinch. She simply takes a large bite of the cookie and shrugs, mumbling something incoherent that sounds a lot like agreement. Then she holds up five fingers.

“Five?” My eyes go wide, and I lean over the counter like I’m half blind. “Five orgasms? What is he packing down there? A magic wand?”

I’ve forgotten what it even feels like.
