Gaze narrowed on me, I’m pinned to my seat. I wait with bated breath for him to speak. He needs to say something because I’ve swallowed my syrup coated tongue.

A smirk curls on the corner of his mouth. “What are you doing today?”

My head snaps back so quick, I’m sure I hear it crack.

I can’t think of a single thing. “Nothing.”

“You got your camera with you?”

“Always.”

“I’d like to hire you.”

“Hire me?”

“You are a photographer.”

I nod, more confused than ever.

“It just so happens I’m in need of one. Up for the job?”

“You don’t even know how much I charge.”

“Don’t care.”

I swallow. Hard. “What is it because if it has anything to do with tattoos then I think we both know that’s a bad idea?”

“I gathered that last night when your ass was in my lap.”

Logan King knows what my ass feels like.

Never in the history of time have I burned so hot.

“Don’t worry. I’ll ease you into it.”

It takes everything to hold back the moan wanting to escape.

My voice cracks, every word shaky. “Ease me into what?”

When the waitress comes to the table, offering a refill of my coffee, I feel like someone popped the bubble we were in.

I refuse the offer, suddenly nauseous with a sugar headache. “No, thanks. I’m good.”

She dips her chin, her attention quickly averted. “How’re you doing, Logan?”

“Can’t complain. How are the kids?”

She rolls her eyes and laughs. “Driving me crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Be sure to have Kyle come in for that work experience over the summer.”

She squeezes his shoulder, her smile warm. She can’t hide the attraction, and who the hell can blame her?

“Sure will.” She saunters away with a sway of her hips.

I expect his gaze to follow but it remains on me. I don’t know why it makes my heart beat a little faster.

“Sleep with her too?” I blurt because my brain malfunctions.
