“Yeah, she’s good here,” Molly adds, squeezing my hand.

She’s a hugger. I just know it.

Kim hums and haws, but in the end, it doesn’t take too much more convincing for her to leave.

I have no intentions of staying. I’m leaving the second my legs allow me to stand without wobbling.

When Kim finally leaves, I sip my water, and ignore the eyes on me from above. Logan crouches again, and my eyes immediately find his. “You good, pretty girl?”

It’s the second time he’s called me that tonight, and now I’m unsure why my body is tingling.

I try to swallow but my mouth is too dry. “I’m good.”

“Because I need to finish my brother’s tattoo, and—”

I cut him off, waving my hand. “I won’t faint a second time.”

Unconvinced, he simply leans his elbows on his thighs. It makes him larger. I need him smaller. He’s consuming too much of my air.

“I don’t faint twice. It’s a thing,” I explain. “When I see a needle, I faint once, and I’m good after. I’m sure there’s a name for it, but I don’t know what it is. Besides, I’m leaving, and you can—”

“You’re nervous again, Bethany Rose.”

I purse my lips. “You’re not wrong, Logan King.”

“Stay until you feel better, okay?”

I nod, too transfixed on the muscles in his jaw flexing.

All these men are dangerous.

I look down to make sure my panties aren’t already on the floor.

A little damp maybe, but still where they’re supposed to be.

With a gentle smile and a dip of his chin, he stands and resumes his work. Archer removes his T-shirt and throws his legs over the chair, his arms draping over the back of it.

A hit of cologne erupts through my senses, and my head lulls to the side to find Jaxson still sitting there.

He grins at me, and I feel like I’ve become his next meal.

“I saw you on a magazine,” I say to distract myself more than him. His smile grows impossibly wider. “That’s a big deal.”

There’s a collective groan.

“Please don’t feed his ego. He’s hardly able to keep his head upright since the band got signed,” Eden says.

“In that case,” I say, facing him again, “Your music is shit.” It’s not. I’ve listened to their new single enough times to know every word.

“I like you.” Eden laughs before turning to Jaxson. “You, not so much.”

He winks at her, sitting back in the chair. “You love it, baby.”

For a moment, I wonder if they’re together, but then she scowls at him before baring her teeth. If they are together, they’re either a passionate couple or currently in the middle of an argument. Either way, the tension rolls off them, and I can’t be the only one to feel it.

The minutes tick by and everyone falls into easy chatter as I sit and observe, refusing the offer of a beer. I don’t look over at Logan again, and I do my best to block out the sound of the gun buzzing as I sip my water.

I need to get out of here.
