I shook my head and smiled. His lips were back on mine in a second. I traced his muscles with my fingers, and I felt him shiver. He took off the rest of my clothes and I pulled down his sweats. He grabbed me, wrapped my legs around his waist, and walked into the shower. I gasped when cold water touched my skin.

Nick laughed. “Too cold?”

“Yes,” I said, shivering.

“I will warm you up in no time,” he smirked.

I chuckled. I had no doubt he would, but I still reached out behind me and adjusted the temperature. I wasn’t going to freeze my ass off.

Nick nipped at my jaw, and I moaned loudly. He lowered his lips down on my breasts and my breathing picked up. I pushed my hips forward and he growled, grabbing my butt. Tingles and sparks flew through my body, and I felt hot all over.

He was right. I didn’t really need hot water.

When we finally finished “showering”, we walked back out to our bedroom. We got dressed quickly and went downstairs.

“We should always shower together,” Nick whispered, placing his hand around my shoulders.

“It is a little bit time-consuming; don’t you think?” I chuckled.

“I don’t care,” he said, nibbling my earlobe.

I shivered, and a moan escaped me. We were just outside the dining room, and I could hear our friends talking. I hoped nobody heard that.

“Stop it,” I said and shoved him away playfully.

He smirked at me, and we walked into the dining room together.

CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE – Going Back

Gabriel’s POV

“What happens now?” Annie asked while we were eating.

I raised my head to look at her. “Now we go home.”

I took Aria’s hand in mine. We will finally be at peace. We will finally be able to live like a normal family.

“It seems surreal,” Aria mumbled, looking down at her plate.

“What does?” I asked her.

She put down her fork and looked up at me. “Everything. Are we sure that this is over? It sounds too good to be true. What about the prophecy? What about his threat?”

“He is dead, baby,” Nick spoke before I could. “He is gone forever and this whole story is over. Not all prophecies come true.”

She sighed and looked back down at her plate. “I guess.”

I placed my hand on her back and rubbed small circles soothingly. “Don’t worry, love. It is over.”

She looked up at me and gave me a small smile. She didn’t look convinced. I sighed internally. I would make sure she felt safe. I would make sure she believed that this was over.

Because it was.

It had to be.

Nick watched him burn until there was nothing left. He was gone. This whole problem is gone.

“What will happen to Victor’s followers?” Jake asked. “Should we do something about this whole inquisition thing?”
