Page 10 of Man Possessed

Kiwi doesn't hesitate as he shoves the door open and pulls me inside, acting like he owns the fucking place. Archer, Otis, and Maddox are standing in the middle of the office while Spencer sits behind his desk. Nessa and Arden are standing behind him, looking pale.

"What's going on?" Kiwi demands, interrupting their conversation.

He pushes me in front of him, keeping my back pressed against his chest and arm protectively around my waist. It takes my mind a moment to catch up.

I'm in Spence's office.

I'm with Spence and his Inner Circle.

I'm with The Berserkers.

I'm safe.

I side-step Kiwi and move toward Archer. Kiwi glares daggers at him and I momentarily second guess my decision to move to Archer when Kiwi has his gun in his hand.

Surely, he wouldn't shoot someone in a room full of people…right?

"You don't know?" Spencer asks, lifting his brow.

"Obviously not," Kiwi snarls. His eyes keep finding mine, and I force myself to stay put and not move to him again, but his eyes are beckoning me. He's magnetic. And it's fucking annoying.

"The Horsemen graced us with a fucking drive by about ten minutes ago," Spencer says as he runs his fingers through his short hair.

"Was anyone hurt?" I ask. It's not our first drive by. They don't happen often, but they're always scary. Archer rests his hand on my lower back, a gesture to comfort me, and Kiwi growls.

"Don't touch her." He grabs my wrist and yanks me forward. I trip on my feet and land against his chest, but he doesn't care. He just wraps his arm around my waist possessively, holding me tighter to his body.

"What the fuck?" Archer says, sounding genuinely confused. "Ken—"

"We don't have time for this," Spencer snaps. I give him an apologetic look as I push Kiwi's firm chest, but he doesn't budge.

"Let me go," I hiss.

"Not gonna happen, love," he says, not looking at me. He's still glaring at Arch over my head. "Do not ever touch her again." His voice is calm, but it's low and deadly. "If you do, I'll cut your hands off and fuck your ass with them. You understand?"

I let out a manic sounding laugh, mostly from shock. Who the fuck says that? When no one else laughs, I force myself to stop. What the fuck.

"Excuse me?" Archer says, his voice dropping.

For as confused as he can be, he's still a deadly motherfucker.

"You heard me," Kiwi growls. "Touch her again, I'll mutilate your fucking body." I bite my lip to keep from laughing again.

What's wrong with me? This isn't funny—not in the slightest. It's just so outrageous that he's threatening Archer for touching me. And the way he's threatening him, the shit he's saying? It's ridiculous.

"You're fucking crazy," Archer scoffs. Kiwi's hold on me tightens until I can't breathe.

"Oh, I'll show you fucking crazy," he says quietly.

I blink up at him. His eyes are darker, his face like stone, his body rigid—he's not the same man I walked in with.

"I'm doing a favor for Bash by having you here. If you keep threatening my guys, I'm sending you back to him black and blue," Spencer says as he stands. "Keep your shit under control, Kiwi, or I'll get it under control."

"Kiwi," I whisper as I place my hand on his chest. He's vibrating, his eyes still locked on Archer. "It's okay. Archer is my friend. He can touch me."

I don’t even know why he’s acting like this. We’ve met all of a handful of times and each time made me more annoyed than the last. I shouldn’t have to calm him down for someone touching me. There’s no reason for him to be acting like this, but more than that, there’s no reason for me to act like this.

"No." He looks down at me, that deadly hunger still in them. "He can't. No one can. Only me."
