“Thanks,” I murmur as I take a sip. The second the warmth touches my tongue I melt into my seat. I hadn’t realized how much I still needed the spike of caffeine even after my nap.

“You doing what she asked on the note?” he asks before sipping his own coffee.

“Yeah, most of it is done. I’ll have to do some more but I need to let the program do its thing first.” I sit back as I watch the numbers fly over the screen as it does its job. “Did you text Scar?” I ask.

He scoffs, “Didn’t even bother.” I chuckle. We all know how she is. It’s the same reason I didn’t bother either. She’s doing her own thing right now. She probably wouldn’t have responded even if we had. And if she did, it’s not like she could really tell us anything important over text.

“I did text the guys though,” he says a moment later. “They said they would be done first. They’re ready to meet us at Mikey and Ronan’s place.”

I sit up straighter in my seat, intrigued. “Oh yeah?”

“Mhm,” he hums. “Scar had already told them she wanted you all to go in for piercings today and asked if they had time. So we know they’re free.”

“Has she noticed yours yet?”

He rubs his hand over the scruff on his face, before shaking his head. He has an amused glint in his eye as he does. “I don’t think we’ve ever been fully naked in bed together.”

I snort. “That’s kind of sad, Luca.”

“Is it?” He says it with far too much confidence to even remotely feel like he’s missing out on anything. “We’ve fucked just about everywhere but a bed.”

“Yeah, so have we. But we’ve also made it to the bed,” I taunt him.

He smacks me upside the head, his smirk still firmly in place. Completely unfazed by my attitude. It’s a testament to just how far we’ve come since we first met. Dude used to be intimidating as hell. “Are you in or not?”

I roll my eyes. “Of course I’m in, dick.”

“Cool, we leave in twenty. We can take the tunnels directly there.”

“You guys too?”I ask with a laugh as we walk into the shop with Ronan tattooing Mikey’s shoulder.

“Obviously,” they answer at the same time. “You thought we were going to be left out of this?” Ronan continues.

“It was one thing when it was just Joe, Luca, and Kade,” Mikey adds. “Now everyone wants one.”

Luca and I trade looks. “Who is everyone?” I wasn’t aware that this was becoming an even bigger thing than just us. Based on Luca’s reaction, he was of the same thought.

“Guess you haven’t heard yet,” Ronan laughs. “Word on the street is that The Bleeding Roses are taking over St Graves.”

“The who now?” I stutter. Luca rears back next to me.

Ronan finishes up the tattoo, wiping it one last time before he starts wrapping it. “You guys really haven’t heard?” he asks.

They both are finding way too much amusement in this right now. We stay silent, waiting for them to give us something more already.

“You remember how this whole tattoo thing started, right?”

“Of course,” Luca says. “It started as a joke when Scar wanted a calling card because other people were getting credit for her kills.”

I snort. I hadn’t actually known that part. I just knew that Joe, Luca, Kade, and Ryder all had the same tattoo of black roses and red blood dripping from the petals.

“Mhm, and who was the first to get it?” Ronan urges.

“Joe?” Luca says questioningly, still not understanding where they’re going with this.

“Right, and who runs the fights for you most nights.”

Pieces begin to come together. We don’t have to say anything before he continues. “Right, Joe does. And remind me, where was it you decided to declare war again?” A thread of bitterness laces his voice and I grimace. Britt finding out that way was really not the best way for it to happen.
