I mumble back some reply, my feet walking cross-footed. Strong arms keep me standing and I keep muttering random things, until finally I feel myself falling.

I wait to feel pain, but my back lands on something soft. A bed – I realize, letting out a moan.

Kicking off my shoes, I stretch out, muttering something about anal pimples and chlamydia before finally, my mind turns off and I pass out.

Chapter 5

"Seriously?You'restillasleep."

I jolt awake, letting out a groan and a curse as my eyes burn from the sunlight. Reaching for the pillow, I put it over my face. This is the worst headache I have ever had in my entire life.

"Addison."

I remove the pillow, realizing Ihadactually heard someone talking to me.

Aaron is standing in the doorway, an angry look on his face as he stares down at me on the bed. I'm still dressed in last night's shorts and shirt, one shoe on the bed while its partner is on the floor.

"Aaron," I grumble, sitting up. "What time is it?"

"It's 10am. I tried to call you this morning and you never answered. I come home, concerned, and find you hungover in bed."

Rubbing my head, I sit cross-legged as I hunch forward. "Stop talking so loud, please."

Aaron stomps across the room like a toddler, grabbing my arm. I look up, blinking back the blurriness. "You're being immature, Addison. Did you really go out and get drunk last night?"

I tug at my arm weakly. "Yes, I did. You didn't answer my calls and I didn't want to be home alone."

His eyes flare angrily as his fingers tighten around my arm. "So, you went out with someone?"

"Don't be ridiculous," I mutter, wincing under his grip.

Apparently, this is the wrong thing to say as he pulls me off the bed, forcing me to stand. "Addison," he says sternly. "Who were you with?"

"No one," I argue back. "I went by myself."

Aaron crosses his arms, his face tilting up in victory. "Then who did the neighbors see at 11pm last night coming inside with you?"

I think back, the night before a blur. "I don't know," I answer honestly.

Panic starts to fill me as I piece together what I can remember. I recall talking to Beau and being at the bar, but after that it's all fuzzy. It must have been him who brought me home.

I look down, noticing all my clothes still on. Beau doesn't seem like the type of person to take advantage of someone anyway. Aaron follows my movements carefully. "Who was he?"

"Just a friend. He probably just wanted to make sure I got home safely," I say, reaching for a hair tie to pull back my hair.

Aaron scoffs. "Is he the one who gave you chlamydia?"

I pause, remembering. I turn around, reaching inside Aaron's drawer.

"What are you doing?" he asks defensively as I pull out the envelope on top of the pile.

I hold it out to him. "Here. Just in case you hadn't had a chance to look yet. Your health results are dated before mine and guess what? You have chlamydia too."

Aaron stares at me blankly for a few seconds before his hand swipes out, snatching the envelope from my hand. I yelp, letting go as I step back.

I've never seen him as angry as he is at this very moment. His blue eyes flash dangerously, freezing me in my tracks.

"I know you cheated," I blurt out, trying to find my voice. "Just tell me the truth and we can sort this out."
