What were the chances?

Impossible.

And yet, here she was.

She started to pace the length of her lounge, chewed her lips, and wrecked her brain. Ultimately, Hunter McLeod, her new boss, was directly responsible for ruining her grandparents' lives. He also wanted to buy her body.

After a while, she flopped down next to Marcy, then sprang up again. The one thing she believed in was that she was never out of options. She just had to think.

Think. Think. Think.

But there was no way—

Or was there...

Her gaze landed on the contract. She scooped up the sheet of paper from the dining room table.

Could she?

Could she really pull it off?

“You're having whole conversations in your head by yourself again. Tell me what you're thinking, Kensley Reid.”

She bit her lip really hard as doubt started to set in. Was she insane for even contemplating what she was contemplating?

Thoughts of her gran and what moving anywhere else in the world would do to her, speared her heart. She would do anything for them. Whatever it took, whatever was required to keep them in Everry Place.

“I have a plan, Marcy. It's insane and possibly impossible. I might get laughed at; I might get ridiculed, but I'm going to do it anyway.”

She was going to counter-deal his deal, then counter-deal the new deal with another deal.

It didn't sound half as crazy in her head at all.
