“Oh, okay, fine. I'll abide by your rules then,” she said, exaggerating each word. “What else?”

“You live with me for the duration of the month.”

Live with him?

He wanted her to live with him?

Chapter Seven

––––––––

Kensley bit her lip, completely displaced. She had no idea what to expect, but living with him was definitely not one of them.

Oh, he was good. He was very good. Too good. Damn him.

But she couldn't live with him. That would be insane, right? Surely even he must know that was a ridiculous thing to ask.

Crapballs.

Seriously, the man possessed too much arrogant entitlement, but she had to remember he had accepted her counter-offer; any other terms he set after that, she had no choice but to accept. In the grand scheme of things, abiding by his conditions for a month was nothing compared to the happiness and relief she would bring her grandparents if she could save Everry Place.

And keep her virginity.

“And sleep in my bed.” His voice dropped to a low, velvety tone that reverberated through the air and sparked against her skin. Shivers cascaded down her spine and made even her lips tingle with anticipation.

“With you... in the same bed? But—” The whole idea of their new deal was that she got to keep her virginity. Did he not understand the terms?

“I understand the clauses in your new contract perfectly fine, Ms. Reid,” he said as if he had read her mind. “When I say sleep in my bed, I mean exactly that. Sleep.”

But it wasn’t so much about sharing a bed sheet; they would be sharing body heat. Did he sleep naked? Nope, not her business.

No bed was big enough for the both of them to just sleep in, but she had no choice.

“What are the chances of me negotiating my own bed?” She asked without much confidence.

“None.”
