“We moved offices, even though we still work for High Cloud. The Hunter came to see me and asked me if I would like to come with you. I think he thought if he brought me along too, you would give him less hell. Can you believe this place?” Marcy whirled around her office, which looked more like a picture from an interior design catalog.

Oh, she was mad. So, so, so mad.

“I’m going to sort this out,” she said, making a circle with her index finger around Marcy’stemporary office. All riled up, she turned on her heel and headed out.

“Kensley, wait,” Marcy said behind her.

“I don’t care if he’s in a meeting. He didn’t care that I didn’t want to be moved from High Cloud,” she said as she continued to march out of the office.

Chelsea had said his office was on the right of the one she said belonged to Kensley's, so without bothering to knock, she pushed the door open.

There he was the freaking perfection of a male specimen.

Her nerves erupted into a riot of chaos as if they were reminding her exactly how breathtakingly gorgeous he was and the things he had the ability to make her feel. And therein lay her dilemma.

She just had to get her balance right. More Ice-Maiden, less hard nipples, and wet panties.

She blindly ignored the other men in the room, all sitting around a boardroom, all with their eyes glued to her, as she entered unannounced and walked up to Hunter with brisk, precise, and determined steps.

“Ms. Reid, I’m in the middle of a meeting.”

“And I was in the middle of my life when you decided to just move my job without asking me first. Gentlemen,” she said, turning to the eight or so men still looking at her in complete, confused surprise. “Please don’t mind me. I won’t be long.” She turned back to Hunter. “I just thought of the perfect epithet for you,” she said, then looked around her. Ah, there.

A permanent marker. Her second-best friend when it came to Hunter McLeod.

Grabbing it from a crystal bowl, she uncapped it, grabbed his hand, and turning it palm side up, she started to write. If anyone had asked her what her plan was for storming into his office, this would not have featured anywhere on the list, and tackling him to the floor would have slipped in at number six.

She had wanted to tell him he had no right to move her around as if she were a chess piece at his disposal. But that would have been the same argument she had used before, and he had reminded her that she had signed over that right to him.

Well, if he wanted her to smile and be stoked that the all-mighty Hunter McLeod was bestowing her with his attention, he didn’t know her at all. But also, yes, she was a little out of her depth.

“That’s your new name,” she said after writing the last letter. She then drew a thumbs-down picture next to it because, knowing him, his big head would probably take the epithet as a compliment. “And I’m taking this marker,” she said as she put the cap back on and marched out of his office. It was a damn good marker, and it was the least he could do for her considering he had turned her life upside down.

~~~***~~~
Hunter looked downat his hand.
Captain Controlling—with a thumbs down drawn at the end of it all in black ink on his palm. His skin still sizzled where she had touched, and her warmth still spread in his veins and made his cock ache to have her.
He probably should have turned her over on his knee and spanked her at his desk. Instead, he let her get away with it, despite her interrupting a crucial meeting with billions at stake just to let him know her displeasure about him moving her out of High Cloud and right next to him at his offices. He had thought bringing her friend over as well would make her more amiable.
He should have known better. Kensley Reid was nothing like he expected. She was entirely screwed, but she still managed to keep fighting. Her fury was the sweetest, hottest thing he had ever experienced before. Even at such a wide disadvantage, she stood up to him at every turn.
Never in all his existence would he have thought that meeting Kensley Reid meant he would be searching online, in the middle of the night, for how to remove permanent marker ink from his skin. Apparently, alcohol-based hand sanitizers worked.
Yet she was a young, innocent little virgin. He was a man of the world and had seen things no man should. He was bigger than her. Stronger. More powerful than her. She belonged to him, and he could do anything he wanted to her, but she refused to go down without a fight.
He smothered the grin on his face. Maybe he’ll spank her later. Maybe he should tear up their fucking contract, assure her nothing would happen to Everry Place until the end of time, and let her go.
Stopping himself when her wetness dripped onto his fingers last night was the most excruciating kind of torture he had ever endured.
But he couldn’t take her where he was going. He might be a total bastard, moving her life around as long as the end result meant she was within his reach and his sight, but she didn’t belong in his world. He couldn’t do that to her.
Hunter stalled for a moment as his gaze flickered over the eight members of his board. This was the last deal he was making. But all he wanted to do was chase after her, remove her clothes, and bury his cock in her sweet tightness until he stopped breathing.
But with that thought came another.
What if he couldn’t let her go once he took her virginity?
