Myheartispounding, and I can feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. “I don’t give a fuck what you like.” I grit out in response before looking back at Agent Travis.

Agent Travis leans even closer, his breath brushing against my ear, and I suppress a shiver. "You're a rare find, Agent Darling. Beautiful and strong-willed. Your talents are completely wasted where you are."

I narrow my eyes at him, trying to maintain a level of control despite my racing emotions. "I'm not wasting anything. This case is important, and I'm determined to see it through to the end."

Agent Decker chuckles, he’s also moved closer and his proximity to me is making me uncomfortable. "You're too serious, Darling. Relax a little. Life is short, you know."

"I'll relax when this case is solved," I reply firmly.

Agent Travis raises an eyebrow, seemingly amused by my response. "You've got fire in you, I'll give you that," he says, his voice filled with a mix of admiration and something else that I can't quite decipher.

I glance at the floor indicator, noticing that we're getting closer to the parking garage level. The thought of leaving this uncomfortable situation and facing the night outside brings a sense of relief.

"Well, it's been a pleasure chatting with you both, but I have places to be," I say, trying to keep my tone steady.

Agent Decker smirks. "Oh, we're not done with you, Darling. We'll be seeing each other again soon."

I suppress a sigh, not wanting to show any vulnerability in front of them. "I’ll be looking forward to it," I say dryly.

Finally, the elevator doors open to the parking garage, and I step out quickly, not looking back at the two agents. I make my way to my car, my mind reeling from the encounter. They're up to something, and I can't shake the feeling that their interest in me goes beyond mere curiosity.

The tension doesn't ease up as I drive to the warehouse. The encounter with Agents Travis and Decker has put me on edge, and I can't shake the feeling that I'm being watched. I remain hyper-aware of my surroundings, constantly checking my rearview mirror, and taking evasive maneuvers to ensure I'm not being followed.

Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I arrive at the dimly lit, desolate area where the warehouse is located. I park my car a little distance away, not wanting to draw any attention. Taking a deep breath, I step out of the vehicle and walk toward the warehouse, my senses on high alert.

It’s just as dilapidated and decayed as the last time I was here, just as dark and desolate. The memories of my last visit come back to me as I slowly make my way through the abandoned rooms. I know my ultimate destination is the heart of the building, just like last time.

To think about the events that have occurred in the time between that last visit and this visit has a slight flush coming to my cheeks. There is something about them that has gotten under my skin far quicker than I had anticipated. Something that spoke to a deep, dark part of myself and my very soul.

I’m in the hall leading to the center room when I feel the presence behind me. I don’t even have time to reach for the gun in the concealed holster at my back before a body is pressed against me. My wrist is held tight in his gloved hand while his other wraps around my throat from behind.

I don’t fight the hold though, there isn’t any point; I already know who it is. The subtle spice that is all Dare. The scent tugs at a memory, but it is gone again like smoke.

“I was starting to worry, Little Darling. I expected you to be early in some attempt to catch us off guard,” his modulated voice in my ear sends a shiver down my spine, that isn’t altogether unpleasant now.

I can’t hide the annoyance at my delay and the reason behind it. “I had an annoying delay on my way out of my office and then wanted to make sure I wasn’t being followed.”

He hums in response, “Is that so? I’m sure I will love hearing all about it some other time. In the meantime, you won’t be needing this.”

The hand he has wrapped around my wrist lets go and slides between our bodies, removing the gun. I don’t see what he does with it, but when his hand returns to the front of my body it's gone. He presses against my stomach, drawing my body to close the gap between us, pressing me against the front of him.

My heart pounds in my chest as I feel the heat of his body against mine, his mask brushing against my ear. My mind is racing, torn between the situation I'm in and the strange allure of Dare's presence. There's something magnetic about him that I can't explain, and it's both unnerving and captivating.

He groans slightly, “I missed your body against mine, Little Darling.”

Memories of them comforting me and their bodies pressed against mine the previous night flash through my mind. I had been too consumed by grief to protest and took all the comfort they had offered me, it had even tugged at something deep inside me that they had left before I woke this morning.

“What was last night?” I ask softly, expressing a portion of the confusion that has hounded me since I woke up.

His hand flexes against my throat. “You were upset. Nothing could have kept us away.” His tone is so matter of fact, as though it is just a normal occurrence for them to be there for me.

The hand he has resting against my stomach moves up my chest, his gloved fingers undoing the top buttons of my shirt. Heat washes through me at the feel of his fingers moving against my chest, but I’m surprised by his next action. Instead of taking advantage of the moment, he hooks a finger under the chain of my necklace and draws it and the pendant out.

“I’m glad you are still wearing it. Don’t hide it.”

My heart races even faster as I feel Dare's gloved hand caress the pendant between my breasts.
