“No, you’re avoiding me. Did I say something wrong? Did I do something wrong? Help me out here.”

My shoulders relax as I hear the worry in her voice.

Fuck. I don’t want her to think she did anything wrong because she didn’t. This is all me. This is me wanting this to be more than it is.

I have to give her time.

My hands cup her face as I stare intently into her eyes. Her hands find my shirt and she grips it like she never wants me to let go. I bring my mouth down to hers and hold it there as she melts into me.

This right here.I want this every day for the rest of my life.

I offer her a smile after I release my lips from hers. “You did nothing wrong.”

Her grip tightens on my shirt, her body flesh with mine as her blue eyes gaze up at me behind her long eyelashes. “Then what’s the problem?”

“My problem is that I’ve never in my life wanted someone as bad as I want you,” I admit and press another quick kiss to her lips so she doesn’t have a chance to answer. “I don’t want us to be a fake couple anymore. I know I have to take my time and allow you to feel that too. I’m trying hard not to push you into anything that you—”

“Okay.”

“What?”

“I don’t know when things changed between us. But I can’t fight off the chemistry we have anymore. It’s fucking explosive.”

“So, you’ve felt that too?”

She laughs. “Oh, I felt it, alright. And I’m not just talking about the couple orgasms you gave me that night.”

“Couple?” I scoff. “More like a handful… I lost count after the first two.”

She playfully swats my arm, before she turns on her heel. “You’re such an asshole.”

I grip her wrist, forcing her to turn back around and crash into me. My one hand reaches around to place itself on the small of her back and holds her to my body, while the other hand gets lost in her messy hair. “Tell me you mean all of that, Ave. Tell me you want to see where this goes between us.”

Her hand comes up to hold my chin between her fingers and thumb. “Yes, boss man.”

I bring my lips to hover over hers, so close that I can feel her ragged breath on mine. “What did I tell you about calling me that?”

“It’s not necessarily a threat that I hate… boss man,” she says with a wink.

“You’re something else, baby.” I pull her into my arms for a long embrace.

“Say that again,” she murmurs against my chest.

“Say what?”

She pulls her head back to look up at me, a smile across her lips, “What you just called me.”

“Baby?”

“Yes that.” She shivers under my embrace. “So totally swoon.”

“I’ll tell you anything you want to hear, baby.”

“Oh will you?” she teases, her hands skating down my arm until she reaches the hem of my t-shirt. “Will you tell me all the dirty things you want to do to me in that massive shower behind you?”

“I’ll do you one better,” I say right before I grip her ass and pick her up in my arms. She lets out a squeal as she wraps her legs around my waist and I carry her into the bathroom. “I’m going to show you.”

“Remove the clothes,” Marc orders, unbuttoning his jeans and sliding them down his toned legs. He’s wearing nothing but a pair of navy blue boxer briefs, and my eyes take a minute to trail his body. “You asked me to tell you all the dirty things I want to do to you in this shower. I plan on doing just that. So take off your clothes.”
