“Just means I’m spending way too much time with you saps.”

We all laugh and order another round of whiskey.

“Aside from all of this shit, I forgot to tell you guys the good news.”

“Let’s hear it.”

“I bought a cabin in the mountains.”

“No shit?” Oliver’s eyes widen. “What made you do that?”

“I fell in love when I was up there. Not just with Avery, but with the serenity of the place. The views. The solitude. All of it. It’s the perfect place to escape the city for a weekend or longer. I wanted a second place to call home that we can all use.”

“I wouldloveto head up there one weekend. It’s the only mountain in the United States I haven’t been to or blogged about yet. From the sounds of it, it would be a perfect spot to catch some views with my camera.”

“Anytime you want.”

“Appreciate that.” Oliver nods.

“Maybe Emiline and I can head up one weekend.” Logan grins.

“I swear on all things holy… I am going to murder you.”

He chuckles. “I love getting you riled up.”

I shoot him a death glare. But despite these two and their insane antics, I feel like I can breathe a little easier for the first time since Monday.

“Do all your dresses fit?” Peyton asks us.

“Yes,” we say in unison. Each of us sounding a little more irritated than the last time she asked us yesterday.

Peyton throws her hands up in defense. “I’m just checking!”

“Take a deep breath, girl,” Emiline says. “Everything is going to be perfect. And if something isn’t in place, you still have two more weeks to get it together.”

“And that’s what we’re here for. To help you,” Kali adds.

“You’re right. Ugh, I just want this to be the best day.”

“It's going to be,” I reassure her. “You’re marrying your best friend in the whole world. No matter what the centerpieces look like, whether Emiline’s tits are hanging out, or the food sucks, you’re still marrying the love of your life.”

“My tits will not be out!” Emiline defends herself. “These girls will be tucked away.”

We had to skip out on our taco Tuesday night dinner plans last night because Peyton had a last minute meeting down at the shore with the venue for the wedding. She’s getting married at a yacht club down there and she’s beyond excited about the location being an all-inclusive.

So we decided to get together at her place this morning to go over a couple last minute decoration plans. It all worked out perfectly because my mom was also off last night, which allowed me to have a four hour long phone call with her about the past.

The amount of closure I received in those four hours was worth its weight in gold, almost as refreshing as unpacking my life in my new therapy sessions I started on Monday.

My mom told me all about her relationship with dad and how it was never the best one, how she was actually happy he finally decided to leave. She felt terrible that my only memory all these years consisted of him leaving us for some floozy.

Dad left mom because there was no love in the relationship.

How can someone stick around if there is no love there? They can’t.

That’s the thought that kept me up all night. He didn’t love her. But Marc loves me. He’s confessed it. I canfeelit in my bones that he does.

The final consensus was that he’s nothing like my father.
