“First of all.” Emiline makes a grossed out face. “I don’t want to know who, what or where my brother sticks his dick. Seriously gross.” She shivers in her seat with disgust. “Secondly, you both certainly have been odd around each other. I have to agree with Kali here.”

I throw myself back on the couch as I tip my head to the ceiling. Has it been that obvious? No fucking way.

“Is it really that obvious?”

“Yes,” both girls say in unison.

“Dammit,” I mumble under my breath. “This is exactly why this won’t work out in his favor. Em cover your ears,” I say to her before I look back at Kali. “You have no idea how hot that night was. He’s the exact kind of dominant and dirty man that I like.”

“You gave me no time to cover my ears and now this might be my cue to go.”

“Don’t leave me,” I plead as I throw my hands together in prayer. “You can’t leave your fake future sister-in-law hanging like this. Besides we know you’re into kinky shit. You basically admitted during that card game on our trip to the shore that you want to be tied up.”

“Now that you bring that up,” Kali chimes in directing her attention to Emiline. “Was it just me or was I feeling some sort of sexual tension between you and Logan.”

“I felt that shit,” I nod repeatedly. “Isn’t he old?”

“God no. He just turned thirty. That’s only eight years older than me.”

“Is this you admittingsomething?”

“No. Absolutely not.” She shakes her head. “He’s my brother's best friend. Not just any brother… my oldest brother. We grew up together, so I’ve known him for like ever. Besides, he’s a cop. You know what they say about cops.”

“That they like handcuffing in the bedroom?” I wiggle my eyebrows.

Emiline wrinkles her face. “Ew. No. It’s that they all cheat!”

“Not all cops cheat on their spouse, Em,” Kali says. “Totally an inaccurate stereotype.”

“I agree. The small town I grew up in, everyone knew everyone. I knew dozens and dozens of cops there. Not a single one ever cheated on their wife or girlfriend. That shit would have been the talk of the town, if any of them had.”

“And Logan doesn’t seem like the type,” Kali adds.

“You two clearly don’t know him the way I know him.” She snorts. “Logan is the biggest playboy there is. I don’t think I have ever seen him with the same girl more than once. Tommy will tell you the same thing. Evenhethinks his friend is a playboy.”

“Well, shit.” I do a little dance in my seat. “I picked the wrong man for this situationship.”

Emiline barks out a laugh. “You have lost your damn mind. Situationship?”

“Girl, I lost my mind when I agreed to be the future wife of your brother,” I huff out a sarcastic laugh. “And yes. It’s not a relationship… It's a situationship. Now help me figure out what I am wearing tonight. And while we're at it, someone help me break up with Dean.”

Kali swipes my phone from the kitchen counter and begins texting a mile a minute with a smug grin on her face.

“There. Done,” she says as she places the phone back on the counter.

I shake my head at her as I pick up the phone to see what she sent to him.

I’m just hanging out with the girls.

Hey listen… I think it’s best if we don’t see each other anymore. I have a lot on my plate for the summer with work and I think it’s best if I just focus on that for the time being. You’re a great guy and I don’t want to string you along.

“Oh my gosh, Kali!” I bellow. “I can’t believe you just said that.”

“What?” She raises her hands in the air defensively. “That’s how you take care of it. You guys aren’t even official. Relax will ya.”

My phone dings almost immediately.

Dean
