“Why the fuck did I open the door to all of you assholes?” Bash yells. He slams down the skillet in frustration. My poor mate went from being alone all the time to having a steady stream of people show up. Secretly, I think he likes it.

“Bash,” I call. His head whips towards me; he glares at the guys and moves around them to come to me.

“Sorry, baby,” he says softly. “They just showed up. I didn’t want to wake you,” he says helplessly.

“It’s fine. Are you doing okay?” I ask, touching my palm to the back of his neck. I don’t have to strain since I’m two stairs up.

“I’m pissed off. I burned the eggs. I was attempting to make you breakfast; it turned into shit because everyone shuffled in,” he grumbles.

“I appreciate the effort,” I say. “Do you have oatmeal?”

“Probably, but they are the instant packages,” he says. He plays with a strand of hair.

“That’s perfect,” I say, smiling.

“I can make it for you,” he offers.

“Thanks, Sebastian.” I kiss him briefly on the mouth.

He takes me by the hand and helps me down the stairs. He doesn’t let go until we get to the kitchen. He stops beside a stool and lifts me. He pays no attention to anyone else in the room as he searches the cupboard for oatmeal. If he had been paying attention, he would have seen the wide eyes of disbelief. Ryker was looking on with pride. He winks at me when he catches my eye. Ava is tearing up with a soft smile.

Everyone here is mated, except Bishop, so they understand what a big deal it is. Bash likes to act like he has no friends, but all these people care about him and have seen the massive change in him.

“We need Marie around all the time. She has the shut-off button to this asshole,” James says, cracking everyone up, breaking the tension.

“Fuck off,” Bash mutters.

“Shit, he’s back,” James sighs. “You have more work to do, Marie,” he winks.

I hide my smile. “How’s Harmony?” I ask them.

“Six months pregnant and cranky,” Blue says. “She was tired of us, so we left.”

“The women of the pack are with her. She needed some pampering,” Jax explains.

“I bet she’s excited, though,” I guess.

“Her exact words were,‘I’m ready to get this baby out, and I never will do this again,’”James chuckles. “She’s ecstatic.”

“What about Serenity?” I ask Ryker.

“She is taking a bath and soaking her swollen feet. She kicked me out, too,” he pouts.

“Is that what you came over to talk about?” Bash asks. He puts a bowl of oatmeal in front of me, giving me a slight smile.

“We came to talk about Brandon,” Ryker says.

“Any news?” Bash asks alertly.

“No, but we have looked at all his usual locations. He hasn’t shown up back at the club. I have Tristan looking at his credit card history. See if we can get a lead that way.”

“Shit. Where the fuck could he be?” Bash scowls.

“I may have something,” I confess. Bash looks at me intensely. “I’ve been getting messages. I thought at first that it was someone that I followed, and it could still be, but they are getting worse. There’s a chance that it is Brandon.” I keep my eyes on Bash.

“When did it start?” He growls.

“The day I met you,” I whisper. “But the first one was on the company website. The others have been to my personal number.”
