I shake my head and bury myself deeper into the pillows. His hand comes to my hair, caressing me, and he sighs.

“My dad used to have seizures from his cancer treatment. I’m the one who would take care of him. This is not a big deal to me.”

I take a deep breath and finally do what I should.

“Don’t touch me,” I hiss as I push his hand away. I sit up again, fighting the pain in my body.

This time I push the cover off me and get off the bed on the other side. “I mean it, Xi. Stay away from me.”

I watch his jaw work as I round the bed to the door. One step to the side and he’s blocking the doorway from me.

“No.”

“No?” I sputter. “Have you gone completely crazy?”

He juts his chin, pointing at my naked legs. “Leaving half-naked?”

“I don’t care how I’m leaving as long as I’m far away from your lying ass. I loathe you right now, do you understand?”

“I can live with that. You’ll come around to understand that when I said I have two obsessions and you are one of them, there was no going back from it. You said it yourself; life is made of choices. You could have chosen prince charming, but you chose me.” He leans down, making sure his face is right in front of mine, when he adds, “I guess you chose wrong.”

I feel my nostrils flare as I try to calm myself. No such luck. I’m pissed. For the first time in my life, I’m fuming.

So I slap him in the face. I use his shock to try and push past him, charging him like an NFL player and ignoring the pain spreading all over my body.

He effortlessly catches me at the waist, my weight and height nothing to him, and lifts me off the floor. In one long stride, he’s throwing me back on the bed. “You’re going to regret that, cupcake.”

“Don’t fucking call me cupcake!” I screech.

I roll off as he tries to grab my ankle and kick him in the shoulder. “Don’t touch me!”

“Alexandra,” he growls. “You don’t want to see me angry.”

“I thought being angry was your default setting. Isn’t that why you chose the sweet girl to date? So you could have some sunshine in your life. Oh,wait,” I bring my knees to my chest when he tries to grab me again, “you were just using me to get to my dad.”

He grabs hold of both my ankles and pulls me until I’m splayed on the bed. “Let go!” I twist and try to kick again but he doesn’t relent.

When he lowers himself right above my face, I don’t let him talk. I bite so hard into his shoulder I rip a hole into his t-shirt.

His grunt of pain gives me all the wrong feelings. Butterflies in my stomach, a band wrapping tightly in my lower belly, and tingles between my legs. Wrapping my hair around his fist, he pulls until I’m forced to let go, then he straightens up.

“Youchosethe bad guy, Alex.” He drags me until his t-shirt bunches just below my boobs. “Youchosethe guy everyone warned you against.” He grabs my hips and flips me on my front, making me shriek. “Do you know why?”

I grunt in response, refusing to give him an answer.

“Because you like the danger of someone who could take your choice away, baby,” he rumbles as he grabs the boxers I’m wearing and pulls them down.

“Don’t you dare!” I scream.

“You like that I treat you like the little slut you are. Always desperate for my cock…” He slaps my ass and I shriek.

“Fuck you!”

What the hell did I get myself into when I started dating him?

“You chose the man who degrades and humiliates you because you love it. It’s too bad for you I came with a no-return policy.”

He spreads my ass cheeks before slapping them again. I feel him kneel between my legs as I attempt to turn around, but he grabs the back of my head, twisting his fingers in my hair. “Stay still, I’ll give you what you crave.”
