And she does. Because there is no one else in this world that matches my brand of crazy like Alexandra Elisabeth Delacroix. For every single curveball I throw at her, she throws it back tenfold, matching my insanity with her need for darkness.

I watch her head move around my gun and pull it back, only for her tongue to swirl around it and for her to take it back into her mouth again.

“Fuck,” I pant. My thrusts become merciless. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” I push harder inside her, grabbing her legs and wrapping them around my hips. She presses back against me, moving in rhythm together with me. My heart is racing, not from the fucking, but from knowing that this is the last time I’ll have her this close to me.

The last time I can allow myself to love Alex fully and let her love me in return.

I shove the gun further into her mouth. “Swallow,” I order roughly. Her eyes light up with lust, and I pinch one of her nipples as I increase my pace. She comes around my dick as she attempts to swallow the barrel of my gun. Her pussy tightens around me, sending waves of pleasure through my entire body and forcing me to explode inside her.

There’s a long silence as we both catch our breaths. Then, I pull the gun away from her mouth. I just want to fall onto her trembling body. I want to hold her close and caress her hair.

But she already knows what I’m here for.

“I’m guessing you want me to take you to my dad’s office now,” she pants.

I pull out and grab her shorts, putting them back on her.

“Yes. Get up,” I say roughly as I grab her by the upper arm and hoist her up. She whimpers from the violence of my gesture, her knees buckling as I finally get her to stand. I hold her, gazing down at her.

Her eyes flutter shut, and she takes a deep breath. When she opens them again, there’s something in them I’ve never seen before, and I can’t pinpoint what it is.

“You’re heartless,” she rasps.

“And yet you love me. Tell me what that says about you.”

She doesn’t deny it, and we both accept it as the irrational yet straightforward truth.

“Come on,” I say softly. “Don’t make this harder on either of us.”

I help her walk to her bedroom door, and once in the hallway, she guides me down the stairs, my grip on her arm gentle but firm.

Downstairs, Tamar is waiting for us. She’s not the kind of girl who would often come and commit crimes with me, but I brought her tonight in case I need to breach through some computer security to get what I need.

Tamar looks at Alex and then at me, her worried eyes forcing me to toughen up.

“Alex,” she whispers. “Are you alri—”

“She’s fine,” I grunt in answer. There’s no space for feelings right now.

There’s light shining under the door to her father’s office, a straight line illuminating the three of us in the darkness of the house.

“He’s up,” Alex panics, shuffling back into me.

“That doesn’t change anything.” I put a hand at the back of her neck, guilt threatening to rip me apart.

I’m in love with this woman. And yet I’ve been the source of her grief from the moment we met.

I put the gun to her temple.

“Xi,” Tamar hisses quietly. “What are you doing?”

My head snaps toward hers. “I need you to trust and listen to me, Tam.” To Alex, I whisper, “I’m only doing this to scare him. I won’t hurt you. I promise that on my life.”

“You’ve already hurt me beyond repair,” is her only answer.

I take in the pain, knowing I deserve it.

I open the office door and put my hand back on her neck. I take a deep breath as her dad’s head lifts from his laptop.
