I let go of her only to grab her hips and pull her to me in a harsh movement. She falls onto my lap, forced to straddle me, and I put a hand at the back of her neck, forcing her to crash against my mouth.

Our lips meet in a harsh movement, and panic takes hold of me.

This is the exact moment I know I’m fucked.

The moment my heart explodes in my chest, and everything around me disappears.

The moment I understand I want this girl to myself.

The moment I know without a doubt that she’s mine.

She smells of all kinds of alcohol. Her clothes are wet, her skin sticky. But her lips…they taste like the most delicious thing I’ve ever had the pleasure to devour.

Tightening my hold against the back of her neck, I press her harder against me. I lick the seam of her lips, demanding entry into heaven. She gasps, letting me in, and I force my tongue against hers. Her jasmine perfume mixes with the stickiness in her hair, and I want to bury myself in her smell, but I also don’t want to let go of her mouth.

I feel both her hands wrapping around my biceps, my arms flexing in reaction to her skin touching mine.

Our kiss doesn’t stop abruptly. We slow down gradually before separating in the slightest, our eyes fluttering open. I see the moment she realizes what she’s done. Her hazel eyes have that sudden shade of worry in them. I lick my lips, addicted to her taste, and smirk at her.

She gasps ever so slightly when she notices something other than a scowl on my face.

“That’s one of your conditions met, Alexandra. Ready for the second one?”

Coming back down to earth from the high we both just experienced, she scurries off me in a rush.

“Xi,” she scolds me. “You can’t…” She looks back and watches helplessly as Harper comes our way with a pretend smile on her face. Her left eye twitches like a crazy person and her cheeks tremble, the muscles strained from being so fake.

“Alex,” she says in a voice trembling from hidden fury.

“Ready for that party, Harper?” I say casually. As if that life-changing kiss never happened.

“We’re coming?” she asks, surprised.

“Sure,” I shrug. “Bring all your friends. You know we appreciate the view.”

Her smile turns real before she twists around and excitedly hops back to her friends. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why they all want to attend our parties. These people have everything they want here.

Except danger, I guess. They want the thrill of being with the gang members of the North Shore. They don’t understand danger is part of our everyday life. They get to leave it behind. We don’t.

I get up and slide my hand to the back of Alex’s neck. I grip her tightly and pull her closer to me, lowering myself so I can talk directly in her ear.

“Don’t forget the second half of our deal.”

I feel her trembling under me, but she doesn’t say anything, and I have no way of knowing if it’s fear or something else entirely.

Harper and her posse come back to us. She takes Alex’s hand. “Come. My chauffeur will drive us.”

I hear Zara snort behind me. A fucking chauffeur to come to our shit part of town. The hypocrisy isn’t lost on my friend and me.

They drag Alex away from me, surrounding her as they walk out of the house.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here,” I grunt as I turn to Zara again.

“Can I just ask that next time you want to practice a soft porn scene withcupcake, you wait till I’m not around to do it?”

I shove her out of my way, back to not being in the fucking mood now that Alex is out of my sight. “Shut up.”

As soon as we reach my car, I grab my gray hoodie and put on my black cap. I’m done with the rich kids talking to me tonight.
