“You just wait and see.” A joke. Not evident, though a joke nevertheless. And I love when he jokes.

I walk back into Xi Ep through the front door before running upstairs and unlocking my window for Xi. I watch him climb the trellis panel up to me, and I help him get in before sliding the window back down.

“Oh Romeo,” I smile as I flutter my eyelashes at him.

“Go shower,” he orders softly as he falls onto my bed.

“Did you know that Shakespeare wasn’t the first to write about the Capulets and Montagues? They’re mentioned in Dante’s poemDivine Comedy, two hundred and fifty years before Shakespeare wrote his play.”

He looks at me from the bed. “How many random facts like this do you know?”

“Many.” I smile proudly. “Did you know from the time Juliet and Romeo meet to the time they get married, only twenty-four hours have passed? Talk about love at first sight.”

He crawls to the end of the bed, stands on his knees, and pulls me to him by the waist. “Okay, my little know-it-all. I promise I’ll listen to more Romeo and Juliet facts after you shower and are ready for bed. Or any facts, really.”

He kisses me, and I smile against his lips.

He refuses to join me, but I don’t care. He’s here. We’ve had sex, and he’s here. There’s something that keeps pulling at my guts. A heaviness that steadily reminds me Xi is the kind of man who disappears. He’s the kind who fucks and leaves.

Not this time, right?

He’s still here.

Nonetheless, I shower quickly and grab a silk, fuchsia cami pajama top and matching shorts before running back to my bed.

“I’m back,” I exclaim, jumping on the bed next to him. My heart is beating hard. I’m ashamed to admit out loud that I was scared he wouldn’t be here when I came out of the bathroom.

There’s a delicious ache inside me, a sting at my entrance, and I love it so much, knowing it’s coming from him.

“There was no blood,” I whisper, looking up at him.

He presses his lips against my forehead and kisses his way to my ear. “I’m not one of your college frat boys, Alexandra. I know how to fuck a woman and make it all about pleasure.”

“We didn’t use a condom. You’re lucky I’m on the pill.”

He must sense the other sentence I’m holding back.

“I got tested last week, and it was all good. I always use protection.”

“But not with me.”

“Not with you.”

“Because I’m a special girl.”

What I consider his smile returns and it basks my entire world in his light. “Yeah,” he agrees. “You’re my special girl.” He puts a strand of dirty-blonde hair behind my ear, and I watch his eyes darken as he licks his lips. “My special girl and my beautiful slut. I made love to you, Alex. Now I want to show you what it’s like when I fuck you.”

My heart lurches in my chest just as my stomach tightens, a sudden dryness taking over my throat as anticipation makes my thighs tremble.

“Now?” I rasp.

“Now,” he murmurs. “Lay back.”

“I’m scared someone will hear,” I admit in a whisper. “Tomorrow. Maybe we can go to your house?”

Am I planning when to get fucked? Is that really how I want to play this?Let me put you in my calendar for five thirty p.m.

I feel ridiculous, but at the same time, we’re surrounded by Xi Ep girls in the other rooms, and this really won’t help my case.
