Within twenty minutes, I was pulling up to Nature’s home. She didn’t give me a chance to park before she was at the door, standing out on the porch with a mug on her face. From the looks of things, she was privy to information that she shouldn’t have been.

“Milo! Really?”

She tossed the bags of milk she’d pumped at me. I caught them mid-air, waiting for more to come from that sick ass mouth of hers. The thought of her on her knees in the parking lot last night had my shit rocking up.

“Really, what?”

“You tracked Zane down? What is the matter with you?”

She folded her hands across her chest, looking better every time she twisted her face a different way. Nature didn’t know it, but she looked the prettiest when she was upset.

“If you’d blocked him like I told you to last night, then you wouldn’t know shit because he wouldn’t be able to contact you.”

“That’s beside the point.”

“That is the point.”

“You’re insane. Why would you go to that man’s place of business?”

“Bet. I’m on my way back up there. I told that bitch to let that shit go, but I see that motherfucker hard-of-hearing.”

“Do not! Makai’s sick ass is there. That is who made him call.”

A smile curved my lips upward. My nigga.

“You think this is funny? You guys are ridiculous. It’s not that serious.”

“You ain’t never felt that thang between your legs so I wouldn’t expect you to understand. Now, that’s the end of that. We’re not even discussing that nigga no more. Erase the number and block him.”

“I will.”

“Right now.”

“Milo.”

“Right now. While I’m here.”

I pointed at her phone, instructing her to do so in front of me.

“Go ahead so we won’t even have these problems anymore.”

Even through mumbled protests, she opened her phone, unlocked it, and erased the contact. She held the phone up to my face and showed me the screen.

“See. Happy?”

I wrapped my arms around her, pushing her against the door.

“Move.”

As much as she hated to admit it, this was the pressure she’d been waiting for me to apply. Though Nature was a well-rounded, well-educated, well-reserved woman, it was my rough edges that got her juices flowing and her heart pumping. My knowledge and extensive education was just icing on the cake.

“Move, Milo. You dropped me off to go be foolish. Move.”

“That’s what you pissed about. Would you have been happier if I’d dicked you down before I dropped you off?”

The root of her issue was clear now.

“No. And I need some emergency contraceptive. You weren’t exactly careful last night.”
