“Then why are you upset?”

“Because I’ve been looking forward to Mason coming home tonight and you’re telling me he’s staying away another night.”

“Quite frankly, you haven’t had any time to yourself, Nay. Why don’t you enjoy tonight and we come first thing in the morning?”

“Goodbye,” she groaned, ending the call instantly.

The slight joy that it brought me to upset her exposed my low level of toxicity but I’d never tell anyone. She was just so damn adorable when she was pissed. And it made her pussy wetter, mouth warmer, and heart grow bigger. In my opinion, it was more beneficial than not because Nature didn’t truly care about shit. It was all a front.

Anything that required too much energy, she stayed far away from, including me. So, the minute she felt as if I was becoming too much, she’d put up those walls that I hated. Until then, I didn’t mind stepping on her toes just a little. As long as our progress wasn’t affected, everything was alright.

“What were you about to say?”

“You need to stop fucking with her,” Malachi warned, changing the subject.

“Or what?”

“You’ll be at a new nigga’s office every month, that’s what.”

“That’s the first and last nigga. If I need to put his eye on a billboard to warn niggas what time it is, then I will.”

“Or you could just do better.”

“I am. The ball is in motion. It only took one time for me to see her outside like that. One time and I’m a fucking believer.”

“Better be.”

“I guess I’m not going home then. Looks like me and Mason got other plans that include his mother and a good night’s rest.”

“Yeah. Take your ass home and I ain’t talking about your residence.”

“I wasn’t thinking of a residence, either,” I confirmed that we were on the same page.

I checked to find Aussie sound asleep next to me. Because I didn’t want her too uncomfortable, I replaced my body with large pillows that she was able to lean against. I searched through the house to find Aeir, checking on both of the boys, who she’d laid side by side in Maz’s crib.

“I’m going to steal him. His mom is ready for him to come home.”

“Awww. I was enjoying him.”

“He’ll be back at the end of the week. His mother and I have a date.”

“Okay. Do you need us to come get him? We can.”

“I’ll let y’all know what the plan is Thursday.”

“Okay. Do you have my number?”

“I do.”

“Well, you sure never use it,” Aeir taunted.

“I haven’t had a reason to, yet. When I do, trust me, I will. Malachi keeps us updated on all things Aeir and the kids. Trust me.”

“I believe it. Give me a call Thursday. Aussie and I will be happy to scoop him up.”

“He’ll most likely be with his mom. Can I shoot her your digits?”

“Of course. Yes. Please.”
