“It’ll be nice to have you finally join me, I guess. I’ve been here for years.”

“And I’m to blame?”

“Yes. In fact, you are. Give me the baby, Milo.”

“Here.”

I handed over Maz, who had no issue jumping in Nature’s arms. His wet lips landed on her cheek as he grabbed her face, trying his hardest to take a chunk out of it.

“Somebody get this baby some food before he eats my baby’s face off!” I yelled. “Malachi, get ya mans.”

“He knows a beautiful woman when he sees one,” Aeir said, admiring Nature from afar. “I’m Aeir.”

“Nature.”

“He’s a fucking eater,” Makai blurted, making us all turn toward him.

“He’s a Domino,” Malachi confirmed with a shrug.

“This is a baby we’re referring to,” I reminded them. “You niggas are sick.”

“And I’m sweet, huh?” Mercer scoffed. “Sick fuck.”

“Whatever.”

Makai paid us no mind, bobbing his head to a beat that no one heard but him, apparently. I grabbed the plate that Nature grabbed and handed to me. Aeir loaded hers up, too. After everyone was satisfied with their helping, we gathered at the table again. This time, with an added bonus.

“Hit me one more time. And don’t lil boy me this time,” I advised Mercer.

He poured a healthy glass of Hen before moving on to Malachi, Mercer, and Pops.

“Y’all heard from Portland?” I tossed out to no one in particular.

“Yeah. He came by yesterday.”

“Saw he was in the city. Guess I’ll hit the nigga up tomorrow. Lawe putting something in motion for the weekend.”

“Where y’all going?”

“As if you’re joining us,” I responded to Makai.

“I might shut the shop down early and step out.”

“I don’t know a luxury tire shop that stays open until two in the morning,” Pops interjected.

“They’re moving tires, Pops. I’m moving bricks. We different.”

Nature spat the water she’d just consumed from her mouth.

“Sorry,” she apologized quickly. “Sorry.”

“It’s all good.”

I wiped the portion of the table that it had spilled onto.

“Just ignorant,” Pops grunted.

“I’m just being honest. Unless somebody at our table working for the people,” he paused, looking in Mercer’s direction. “Then what’s the issue?”
