“You didn’t want to marry that asshole and you let me take that gown off your ass within minutes. So, calm your tits. We’ve got a long road ahead of us.”

Rage bubbles up from my throat and tickles the base of my skull. It’s an overwhelming emotion I only remember having once before when I was stuck in traffic and a man kept honking at me as though I was the problem. I wasn’t.There was a woman crossing the street. I was waiting for her to pass, but the man was so impatient screaming obscenities out the window and honking, that I nearly crawled out of the car and slashed his tires.

I’m not proud of that fact, but I suppose it’s the Texan in me. No matter how tough things get, Texas girls are tougher.

I bounce onto Tex, the giant man who I clearly couldn’t take. I straddle his frame and pin his arms above his head, staring down at him like a wild cat in the jungle who’s been fucked with for far too long. “The dress was uncomfortable! I told you that! You don’t know me anymore, Tex. Tomorrow morning, you’re taking me back to Amarillo or I’m taking your wallet and I’ll find my own way back.” I hold still for a moment, and for a second, I’m back where I was years ago, hovering over the top of him, staring down into his dark eyes, hoping he’ll flip me over and make me his… claiming me, owning me, fucking me harder than I ever thought possible.

My clit throbs and my face flushes hot as annoyance settles in where rage was.Why did this man have to have so much testosterone? Why do I have to be so susceptible? Why won’t the rage come back?

He holds my gaze with more intensity. He’s poisoning me. Whatever pheromones he’s giving off are poisoning my mind. Soon, I’ll be beneath him, a heaving pile of sweat and need.

Lord, I hope so.

No!Get it together, girl!

I sigh. And as though he can feel my internal struggle or smells the conjuring of sex hormones leaking from me, he flips me over and pins me beneath him. Within seconds, I’m reminded of what a giant Tex truly is. Not only in height, but width. The man’s size is alarming every time.

“Do you remember what happens to naughty little girls, mama?”

I drag in a staggered breath trying not to remember all the dirty things Tex used to do to me. But with his massive, inked body holding weight over the top of me, it’s impossible not to remember the way his hand spanked my ass. The way he bit my shoulder and whispered dirty things in my ear. The way he tied me up and shoved his cock in my throat so deep I was gagging. Gagging but begging him not to stop. I wanted all of him, every inch.

His inked hand drags up over my body and lands on my neck as he stares down at me. “You look like you remember.” His voice is deep and rough.

God, why does this man bring me to life? Why is every nerve in my body on fire, desperate to be touched by him and only him? I haven’t felt this way in years. Come to think of it, I haven’t experienced anything like this since the last time he touched me.

Everything below the neck is begging for me to tell him what a naughty girl I’ve been, but my brain is fighting hard against it.

“I do remember. I also remember you saying you kidnapped me for revenge, so maybe tell me what that’s about first.” My brain seems to think this is a rational parlay into something other than sex, but my body is pissed. My hips still lift toward his without thought. “Does this have something to do with the Death Rangers, because this is a weird way of doing things if you don’t want me mixed up with them?”

He groans and rolls to the side. “I left the Death Rangers a while ago and joined an MC in Rugged Mountain. That’s where we’re headed.”

“So… this Rugged Mountain MC wants you to kidnap me? Do they know Johnathan?”

“No. RMMC isn’t like the Death Rangers. Hell, we’re building a lodge for the people right now. We’re hoping it’ll be done by Christmas. I’m not that guy anymore, mama.”

“Really? Because it seems like you’re still that guy. You did just pull me from my wedding like a barbarian stealing his ox back.”

He rolls his eyes and lowers his body to the side of me.

Crisis officially averted. Damn it!

“I know who sent that letter to the asshole.” I guess Johnathan’s name is officially‘the asshole’if Tex is talking.

I roll my eyes. “You could’ve led with that.”

“She lives up in Colorado Springs, has family in Amarillo, and she’s young.”

“Younger than me?”

Tex laughs. “Yeah. She’s probably twenty-two to twenty-four… something like that.”

“Why didn’t you tell me this at the wedding? If you know her and you know they’ve been fucking, I’d have loved to be let in on the secret.”

“I don’t know they’ve been fucking. I only know she exists. Her father has done business with my family for years. He’s a real controlling guy. I’d bet the extortion plot is his idea.”

“So do you think Johnathan was really with her or—”

“Yes.” He laughs. “I think he was with loads of woman besides you. That’s what he does.” There’s not an ounce of empathy in Tex’s voice.
