“Shhh, little beauty, I’m here.” I felt warm big hands gently caressing my arms. I couldn’t figure out if it was real or if finally Kenny broke. “You’re safe, Lilia, I promise. You are safe.”

I peeked up at him and seeing his beard something clicked back into place. “Tank?”

“Yeah baby, I’m here.”

I launched myself into his arms and wrapped myself around him like a koala that was never letting him go again. “You’re here. You came. You really came.”

“Always, baby. I love you too much to be without you.” He planted kisses all over my face. When he got to the slightly bruised cheek he growled, “Did he do that? Did he hit you?”

I looked down at my tightly clasped hands and nodded yes, feeling all over again like it was my fault. Tank stood with me still holding onto him with my arms and legs wrapped tightly around him. My face was buried in his neck so that his scent could calm my heart and soul.

“Tank, we’re taking this asshole to the basement,” a male voice that sounded familiar told him.

“How far?”

“He hurt her, Razor.”

“Full package. You lucky dog you,” the first man chuckled. I peeked my eyes open and sure enough, Saint and Razor were holding a semi-conscious Kenny out the door. In all the craziness that was swirling in my head, one thought stuck in my head, how were they going to get him wherever riding motorcycles?

Guessing my thought, Tank whispered. “Two prospects drove cages here. One for Kenny. The other is to move you to my place.”

I looked up into his eyes in surprise. “What?”

“You’re mine, little beauty. Mine to love and protect.”

I glanced around my apartment and told him, “Leave the furniture here unless the prospect wants it. Otherwise, everything goes where I go… with you.”

The moment I heard the male voice in Lilia’s apartment, panic burned through me. I continued to listen as I placed it on mute and then ran to Saint’s office. I knocked and didn’t wait for him to answer. Putting my phone on speaker just in time for us to hear him call her a stupid bitch, I looked at Saint and said one word, “Lilia.”

The look of anger on his face matched mine. I turned to leave when I noticed Razor in the office as well. He jumped up and followed us out. “You two, grab cages and follow us,” Saint ordered as we got to our bikes and climbed on.

Making sure I could hear Lilia through my earbuds, I turned on my beast, kicking up dirt as I sped out of the clubhouse and onto the road. I opened it up and went as fast as I possibly dared. The whole time I was listening to my girl being tormented by this crazy asshole.

The sounds and cries of him attacking my girl had me in a near full-blown panic. Turning mute off, I didn’t care if he heard me or not. “Lilia! Answer me, baby. I’m almost there. Come on, little beauty, tell me you’re okay. Lilia! Say something!”

“I’m okay, Dax. I managed to get into the bathroom and lock the door. I’m so so sorry. Our first date and it’s ruined by my drama.”

The immediate sense of relief at hearing her voice allowed the rage to take over. Pulling in front of her building I was off my bike before the engine had even shut off. “I’m here, baby, you hear me, I’m here with some of my brothers. I’m here, little beauty.”

This was one time I was glad I was as big as I was. With a hard kick, Lilia’s apartment door burst open. The man beating on the bathroom door was only a few inches taller than my girl with greasy hair, pitted skin, and crazy eyes. I couldn’t see any apparent weapons but that didn’t mean there weren’t any.

Moving with speed fueled by rage I landed punch after punch on the asshole. It wasn’t long before Saint and Razor pulled me off with Saint yelling at me, “Tank, go get Lilia.”

I headed straight for the bathroom using my shoulder, I pushed it open, the lock ripping out of the wood. That’s when I saw her. My Lilia was crying in fear, trying to make herself invisible. Her sobbing, “No, no, no,” broke my heart. That asshole did this to her.

“Shhh, little beauty, I’m here,” I told her as I caressed her arms. “You’re safe, Lilia, I promise. You are safe.”

I watched as her beautiful eyes, filled with fear, peeked up at me. “Tank?”

“Yeah baby, I’m here.”

She launched herself into my arms and wrapped tightly around me. “You’re here. You came. You really came,” she sobbed.

“Always, baby. I love you too much to be without you.” I needed to break her out of this fear, this fight or flight mode. I started kissing all over her face to distract her. When I got to her slightly bruised cheek I growled, “Did he do that? Did he hit you?”
