“I’m just thinking about how things have changed in the past few months. It’s almost a year since Brielle was given to me and I didn’t think I would understand why Dad did it.”

“And you do now?” my brother murmurs as he looks at me. We’ve always been close. Even with the small age gap, I never thought about him as ayoungerbrother. We have always been on a similar wavelength. And it’s something that I’ve cherished. Family has been my focus for so long. The idea of me being a father though, that has emotion twisting in my chest.

“I still don’tunderstandwhy he did it, but I know that it’s for the best. She’s changed me in ways I never thought about. Right now, all I want is to have children, to raise them in this world and see them grow and mature into men who can take our places one day.”

“As long as you don’t go getting yourself into trouble and leaving me with all this,” Jordan says as he waves his hand around the room. If something were to happen to me, he would be the one to step up and lead the family.

“You know you’re stuck with me until we’re both old and fucking grey, Brother,” I tell him with a chuckle. “Now, go, and I’ll see you soon. Take the plane, make sure to send it back because I want to take Brielle to New York for the holidays.”

“Take care of her, Jude,” Jordan says as he rises to full height. “And I’ll be back soon enough. You know I can’t resist a good party on the island.”

I push to my feet and round the desk. Pulling Jordan into a hug, I hold him for a long while, and I can’t help but be proud of the man he’s becoming.

Opening the folder with all my brother’s information, I scan through the details, and I smile. My father didn’t think he would ever walk away from this life, and now that he’s wanting to delve deeper, I wonder if my brother knew what his choice would be.

The door opens slowly, and when I see Brielle walk in, I smile. She looks like a different person. My queen. The softness of her skin glows as she walks into the room as if she owns it. And I suppose she does. Half and half.

“I was thinking about talking to Emilio.” She doesn’t wait for me to say anything as she settles into the chair opposite my desk and crosses her legs. She’s immaculate in a dark green knee-length dress. Her heels match her outfit and her dark hair hangs down to the middle of her back.

“I think that would be a good idea,” I say to her. “I’ve just sat with Jordan,” I continue quickly. “He wants to go and work with The Agency.”

“Isn’t that the company your father used for—”

“Yeah,” I say before she can finish. Even though I’m still worried about him joining them, Jordan is a good fighter. “I think he’ll enjoy it. There is a part of my brother who enjoys the fight. He likes to be deep in the shit which only sets me on edge. But, I have to accept it.”

Brielle smiles. “You’re a good brother.”

“I’m an even better husband,” I throw back easily.

This time, she laughs, and I find I enjoy the sound of it. “I never doubted you.” Her words may be light-hearted, but there’s a confession in them. I want so badly to take her right here. Even though she belongs to the three of us, I want to see her pregnant. As soon as fucking possible.

“Well,” I say softly. “There were times I’m pretty sure you didn’t want me to be your husband.” The confession I offer her is one of brutal honesty. I know for a fact Brielle hated me when we first met. I don’t blame her for her feelings, I had them too.

She lifts her hand and wiggles her fingers. The ring I put there only a week ago, shimmers in the light streaming through my office window.

“I didn’t,” Brielle admits. “There were moments I wanted to run, but the more you challenged me, the more Valen accepted me, and the more Kai taught me, I realised I was home.”

I tip my head to the side, my gaze locking on hers. “So you’re finally in acceptance?”

“I was the moment I saidI Do,but then again, if I think about it, I know I was yours, Kai’s, and Valen’s, since the first night I laid eyes on you. I may have hated you,” she admits with a gentle giggle. “But, you’ve won me over, even though you can be an arsehole at times.”

This makes me laugh out loud, and I lean back. “I’m an arsehole with an amazing dick, which is why you agreed to marry me,” I throw out at her with a wink.

Watching her roll her eyes makes me smile because I know our road may not have been easy, but it’s perfect for us. This is how we were meant to be.

“It seems my father knew all this shit was going to work out.” I don’t know how he did, but he was an intelligent man. He chose this girl for me. She’s challenged me since the first day I met her, and I know it won’t stop until the day I take my last breath. But I also know she’ll do anything for me. As I would do anything for her.

“I know when I married you, it wasn’t only you I had promised myself to,” Brielle admits with a soft smile. “And I’m not running away, not any time soon, or any time in the future. This is where I belong. And no matter what, our family will be ours to cherish.”

“You know I want to fill that pretty little womb with my seed as soon as possible,” I tell her. It’s a brutal honest truth. “I’ve opened more than my heart to you, Brielle.”

She nods slowly. “I know. I’ve seen your soul for a long while now, Judah. You may think you’re a cold-hearted bastard, but you’re not. You’re more than that and you just don’t like people knowing it.”

“Emotions make us weak, little spy,” I tell her with a shake of my head. “It’s what I grew up knowing, learning, and believing.”

I realise how our families are vastly different. There aren’t any similarities even though we’re both from the same world. Both our father’s are, or at least, were, in charge of running their own organisations. Her dad walked away, while mine was killed because he was one of the most feared men in the world.

“Emotions are what make us strong,” Brielle tells me. “You know why?”
