“I was in rehab. I wanted to say…thank you. You probably saved my life.” She shakes her head. “No, you did save my life. If you hadn’t taken me to the hospital that day, I would have died. If not that night, then maybe the next when I tried to drown myself in the alcohol.”

“It’s nothing,” I say, but she shakes her head.

“It’s everything…” she frowns, reaching out to take my hand in hers, but she stops herself. I clear my throat.

“I mean, you don’t need to thank me. There was no other choice. You needed help. I had to.”

“Well, I’m going to, anyway. Thank you, Nash,” she says again, “and I’m sorry. I’m sorry I showed up to our first…dinner like that.” She pauses before saying dinner. Was she going to say date? “I’m sorry you had to take me to the hospital. I’m sorry I put you in that position, and I’m sorry I ruined everything.”

“You were hurting,” I argue, but she shakes her head.

“My drinking problem started before Nix died. I see that now. I just didn’t want to accept that before. But I’m a lot better now.” Her smile is sad but also hopeful. “How are you?” she asks.

“Fine,” I say too quickly, but she doesn’t push me.

“Okay, Nash.” She nods before opening her arms. “Hug?”

I don’t even need to think. Instead, I grab her by the waist and pull her into my lap. She’s straddling my hips, and I’m burying my face in her neck as I cling to her.

“Don’t ever leave me like that again, Rose,” I growl into her hair as her arms wrap around my neck. She tries to pull away from the hug, but I don’t release her.

“I’m sorry, Nash.” She caresses my hair, and as tears burn in my eyes, I realize that I’m already lost to this girl. She can’t be mine. I’m not good enough for her, but I’m already hers. “Hey, Nash, hey, look at me, baby,” she murmurs, but I shake my head.

“I can’t.” My voice breaks, and I scold myself for being so weak in front of her.

“Oh, Nash.” She leans back in my arms, her hands cupping my face as she looks down at me. “Oh, baby, I’m sorry. It’s okay, I won’t leave again. It wasn’t your fault, I needed help,” she sniffles, and a tear falls down her cheek. She swipes at my wet face, smearing the tears falling down my own cheeks.

“I thought you weren’t coming back. I’m not good enough for you. I thought you realized that…that you left me after you learned I was Blue…” The confession falls from my lips, and I hate that I’ve made her cry. “Fuck, I’m sorry.”

“Nash, don’t say that. Hey, look at me,” she commands, leaning back as far as she can until our eyes meet. “You are more than enough. For me, for anyone. You are enough. You always have been, Nash.”

I shake my head, but she holds my face between her hands, not letting me hide from her.

“Listen to me, Nashville Meadows. You are one of the best men I have ever known in my life, and you will not talk badly about the man I love like that.” Her tone is scolding, but her words steal the air from my lungs. Her eyes soften as she smiles at me. “You heard me,” she says like she can read my mind. Like she could hear my thoughts, trying to deny her confession.

“You–” but I can’t say it.

“Of course, I love you. How could anyone resist you, Nash?” she teases. “You’re kind, caring, loving. You fight for those close to you and love with all you have. I know why you tried to keep me at a distance.” Her smile is sad, but she shrugs. “It didn’t work. I still fell for you.” She sniffs, then squeals when I flip us, so she's lying on her back looking up at me.

“I fucking love you. With all my heart, all my soul. With everything I am, I love you, Rosily Rays.” Then I kiss her.

Hoping she can feel just how much I mean every fucking word.

“Woo! Fuck yes!” I hear from the doorway, but I don’t stop kissing her. I don’t give a shit if anyone watches as I claim my girl.

“Mine,” I whisper as I finally break the kiss, and Rose nods.

“Yours.”

“And you thought me falling for my stepsister was bad. Just wait till you find out we’re gonna be brother-husbands,” Holden says from the doorway, making me snort. I finally turn to see Holden, Rome, and Griff standing there.

When I hear a door slam, I know it can only be one person. Rose must know too because she sighs, presses three kisses to my cheek, and then pats my arm so I can let her out from under me. I don’t move.

“Nash.” She lifts a brow, but I can see she’s trying to hold in a smile. “He needs me too,” she whispers, and I groan.

“Fiiine…” I roll off her, not bothering to hide the fact that my hard dick is tenting my sweats right now. Holden smirks when I shrug at him.

I glare. He looks awfully smug…
