"I want to destroy you." His breathing deepened. His voice was a low, husky whisper. My hand glided up, tracing the curves of his ripped muscles. "Are you ready to beg me to fuck you?"

Sucking in my bottom lip and releasing slowly, a small moan escaped my throat. Spinning me around, Christian pulled my ass tightly against the bulging underneath his jeans, one hand tight on my waist, the other sliding up my stomach through my shirt. His fingertips grazed over the thin lace of my bra before sliding up and gripping my throat. I wiggled beneath his grip, grinding myself against him.

"Go ahead, baby," he breathed against my ear, skimming his other hand down my thigh, pulling my skirt up. "Tell me what you want."

"You want me to tell you what I want?" I whispered, spinning to face him still in his embrace. He nodded. The corners of his mouth turned up in a seductive smile. "I want," I whispered against his lips, skimming my hands up and grabbing both his shoulders, "for you to go fuck yourself." I pulled my knee up hard into his balls. He released me with a grunt. Hunching over, both his hands shot to his groin.

Shoulder back and head held high, I strutted off with a sense of power. That would teach him to fuck with me.

I didn't stick around to find out what Christian did after he recovered. Heading towards the Villas, I realized I couldn't go home tonight. That stunt Christian pulled would infuriate Noah, and giving him a day or two to calm down would help deescalate the situation.

I didn't have anywhere to go. Chloe was on lockdown, Ryder was in a brand-new relationship, and they usually crashed together.

Then it dawned on me. Christian's parents' house was empty. I'd overheard Christian talking to Lincoln about his parents being out of town until closer to graduation, which meant the beautiful 10,000-square-foot home was vacant. Aiden and Christian lived in the pool house and didn't seem to go into the house. The least he could do was let me stay since he was the reason I couldn't go home tonight. Not that I was going to ask permission, though.

Cutting through the groves, I crept to the house through the back of the Chandler property.

Sucking in a deep breath and crossing my fingers, my heart pounded as I checked the back door, and when it opened, I blew out a heavy sigh. I waited a long moment for an alarm to sound. Nothing. Giving myself a mental high five, I stepped into the darkness of the mansion. Since being bad typically didn't end well for me, I did a little happy dance, even if it was strange that people with so much money and so much to lose just left their doors unlocked.

I stood still as Christian and all his boys pulled up to the pool house. Holding my breath, hoping they didn't come inside, and they didn't.

Turning on lights wasn't an option, so I roamed around the house using only the soft glow of my cell phone. I needed food, a shower, and sleep. I'd missed school lunch, meaning I had nothing but alcohol in my system.

Oddly the fridge was full—so much food. I reached in and then stopped myself. I was hungry, but I wasn't a thief. I shut the fridge and headed up to find a bed. I'd figure out a shower tomorrow in the daylight.

His smell teased my senses before I stepped into the room. I knew this was Christian's room without being able to see anything. My prepaid phone vibrated as I stroked my fingers over his neatly made bed.

It was Christian. I didn't bother trying to figure out how he got my number or how his name and number got programmed into mine. He was slicker than I thought.

Christian - You play dirty, Brooks.

Staring out the second-floor window, careful not to let him see me or the glare of my phone, I watched him reclining in a lawn chair beside the pool, watching his phone.

Harper - It was well deserved.

I expected to see him angry, but he wasn't. He was smiling.

Christian - You know this means war, right?

I wasn't sure what Christian wanted from me, but at that moment, I realized it wasn't to hurt me maliciously.

Harper - Game on ;)

I'd enjoyed teasing him more than I liked to admit, and truthfully, I couldn't wait to see what he came back with.

Christian - Be at my house before sunset tomorrow.

I couldn't help but wonder if he already had a plan or was still working on it. I decided not to respond. To let him wonder whether I'd show or not.

Chapter 11

Christian

The following morning, I watched out the kitchen window as Harper carefully shut the back sliding glass door and silently ran down the long driveway disappearing behind the large oak trees that lined the driveway. Switching on my phone, I flipped on the gate camera and watched her load into Chloe's truck.

"Harper leave yet?" Aiden asked, barreling down the stairs wearing only black gym shorts.

"Yeah, Chloe just picked her up at the gate." I set my phone on the countertop and crossed my arms over my chest.
