"How—"My eyes widen in shock. They did all of this for me.

"Christian called us yesterday," Chloe cut me off, handing Christian a black rectangular piece of plastic. "We weren't actually shopping for me today, and Ryder picked up toiletries and..."

"New sheets," he interrupted. "Who knows how many bare asses have been on that bed."

"Just mine." Christian laughed. Ryder passed Christian and gave a sincere nod, insinuating peace between the two or mutual respect for one another. Maybe both.

"What would you have done if I said no?" I asked Christian.

"Tied you to the bed until you changed your mind." He chuckled. "Too bad it didn't come to that. Could have been fun."

"Gross," Ryder scowled.

"We should get you unpacked," Chloe suggested, grabbing a handful of bags. "Everyone ready to help?"

"Let's do this," Ryder said, carrying a few bags up the stairs.

"Thank you," I said. Christian threw his arm across my shoulder.

"Promise me you won't go back to the Villas," he said. I knew I'd eventually have to go back. When whatever this was with Christian was over, I'd have to return, but this promise wouldn't matter at that point.

"Promise."

We spent the entire afternoon setting up the apartment. Chloe took charge of delegating jobs, making sure everyone was busy working.

"Oh," Chloe said as we finished unpacking. "I almost forgot this." She held up the silver shimmering prom dress I'd tried on at the dress shop earlier that day.

"What am I supposed to do with that?" I chuckled. Chloe nodded, indicating to look behind me. When I turned, Christian was smiling behind me.

"Prom," Christian said, answering my question. My eyes flashed between the two. "Will you go to prom with me?"

"You want me to go to prom? With you?" He nodded. "Are you asking me, or do I have to go?"

"I'm asking." His lips curved into a smirk.

Going to prom had never been in the plans for me. It had never even been on my radar, but how could I say no when he'd gone to this much trouble for me to go with him?

"Yes. I'll go with you."

A knock sounded from the first floor, distracting everyone.

"That's the food," Christian stated, and we all barreled down the stairs.

I was surprised when I saw Maverick waiting outside to be let in. Christian's boys didn't knock or wait to come inside the pool house. He'd already told them.

Everyone stood in the kitchen, all eyes on me. "What?"

"Are you going to let them in?" Christian laughed, jerking his head toward the door. "Or tell them to fuck off?"

"They have food," I said. "Of course, they can come in." I opened the door.

"All right, Harper," Lincoln said, holding up a new Xbox game when he stepped through the front door. "You in?"

"Of course," I said, following him into the living room.

"After you eat," Christian said, grabbing my waist and guiding me back to the kitchen. He handed me a plate and started filling it with more food than I'd eaten last week. It was nice for once in my life having someone who cared if I ate or starved, but I didn't want to get used to it either. Tomorrow it could be gone.

After Chloe and Ryder left, I realized I hadn't seen Christian in a little while.
