"Take. Your. Fucking hands. Off her," Christian's voice boomed from behind me. His tone was laced with venom. "Or I'll break every bone in your fucking hand." Noah and Christian were the same height, but Noah was leaner, and Christian was pure muscle.

"Harper belongs to the Southside," Noah taunted but released my arm.

"Harper belongs to no one," Christian seethed.

Noah's taunting demeanor disappeared and was replaced with fury. His fist clenched at his sides. Noah already didn't like the Valley Boys, and for them to take something Noah thought was his would declare war. Christian knew it. His defensive posture said he was ready for battle. I wasn't, though. I didn't want Christian or his friends hurt because of me. Noah was outnumbered today, with only Mason and Parker with him. The war wouldn't happen today.

Mason and Parker crowded behind Noah, and Christian's boys stood behind him. Chloe and I stood in the center of them.

"This has nothing to do with you," Noah said.

"Yeah," Christian said. "It does. Don't you get tired of beating on girls? Maybe it's time to pick on someone your own size."

"Fine," Noah scoffed, throwing up his hands. "Go ahead and let him pop that cherry. We'll finish breaking you in when you come crawling back because he's done with you." Noah's eyes locked on mine. He never saw it coming. Christian's fist slammed into the side of Noah's face sending him tumbling to the ground as chaos broke out around us.

"Don't you ever talk to her like that again," Christian snarled. His tone low and lethal. Noah was back on his feet and charging for Christian.

Lunging forward, I was jerked back against my will by Sebastian. Aiden had Chloe, and Sebastian had me, hauling us to the opposite side of the Escalade and away from the fight.

"Stay here," Sebastian ordered, setting me down to open the door, but I took off. No way was I letting anyone get hurt because of me. Aiden reached for me but caught one of the thin straps to the top of my dress, snapping it.

Sirens echoed from a distance. Someone had called the cops. Sliding around the back of the Escalade, I didn't waste time assessing the situation. I went straight for Noah.

"What are you doing, Wonder Woman?" Lincoln hissed, grabbing me around the waist before I could get to Noah and jerking me back. It wasn't like Christian needed my help. Christian stood over Noah with Noah's shirt balled in his fist, using the other to pound into Noah's face.

Maverick, Sebastian, and Julian stood ready to pounce if Noah's boys stepped in, making the fight unfair.

"We need to go," Lincoln shouted. "Cops."

Christian dropped Noah and backed away. His chest was heaving with anger.

Noah fumbled to his feet, wiping the blood from his lip and mouth. His eyes locked with mine. His mouth curved into a purely evil smile as blood dripped from his lips.

"See you soon, Harper," Noah muttered, backing into the shadows with his boys. Christian surged forward, reaching out for Noah, but Maverick grabbed him, shoving him into the Escalade.

We all piled inside, and Lincoln spun out of the parking lot. Five minutes down the road, he pulled over, and we all got out.

"Doesn't look like we will make it to prom," Chloe said, grabbing the broken strap of my dress. My dress wasn't even half as damaged as Christian's tux, not to mention the shiner on his cheekbone.

"You guys should still go." They shouldn't miss out on tonight because of me. "You don't have to miss it."

"Fuck that," Chloe said. "We were only going for you." Chloe's gaze flicked around to everyone. "Does anyone still want to go?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"So, now what?"

The guys all passed glances before simultaneously chanting, "Lake house."

"What is the lake house?"

"Lincoln has a house on Lake Cannon," Maverick said. "We'll, spend a few hours out there instead of going to prom."

Lake Cannon was deep in the Valley behind all the massive mansions tucked deep in the woods.

Twenty minutes later, Aiden pulled the Escalade down the long-isolated driveway ending at a two-story house built on Lake Cannon.

The house was as beautiful as the location. It looked more like a luxury cabin with large windows, a wrap-around porch, and a large pool and hot tub in the backyard that overlooked the lake—something I'd only ever seen on TV.
