"Ohh, shit." Maverick smirked. "She's feisty today."

"I told you to wear your hair down," I whispered against her ear, reaching up and releasing the clip. "I don't like saying something twice." She shoved me away, but I didn't move. "Be waiting at my Jeep after dismissal."

"And if I'm not?"

"Fuck around and find out." I gripped her thigh tightly, digging my fingers into her skin through her denim jeans. "I gave you your one free pass today with your hair. Next time, you won't be so lucky." Her jaw flexed as she stared straight ahead.

Reaching out, I twisted a tendril of her straight dark hair around my finger. Leaning in, I brushed my lips across the shell of her ear. "Oh, and you owe me a blow job," I breathed so only she could hear me.

"I don't owe you shit," she hissed, jerking her ear away.

My lips twitched in amusement. "Oh, but you do." Wrapping my hand around her arm, holding her in place, I brushed her hair off her delicate throat. My gaze traced over every curve, my mouth watering to taste her and twitching like it was drawn to her. "And I always get what I want."

Releasing her, I twisted around, kicking my leg over the table, pushing up, and strolling out. Making sure to flash the Villa Boys a shit-eating smirk on my way out.

Chapter 4

Harper

My heart pounded as my gaze followed the Valley Boys out of the cafeteria. My gaze flicked from the door once the Valley Boys were gone to the table full of Noah's guard dogs. Every eye was focused on me as they whispered amongst themselves, and it only made me hate Christian and his rich friends more.

My life had never been easy, but it had also never been this complicated. Why was Christian so set on destroying me?

"Omigod, what was that about," Chloe whisper-yelled, sliding into the seat across from me. "That was Christian Chandler." She fanned herself dramatically.

No doubt Christian was hot. He was 6 foot plus of chiseled muscle, sharp jawline, dark hair and eyes, with a smile that could melt a girl's panties off with a quirk of his full lips and perfect all-white teeth, but he was also 6 foot plus of all asshole who was not only from the Northside of the tracks but from the Valley.

"I'm aware," I rolled my eyes. "It's a long story."

"I got time." She rested her chin on both her fists and batted her eyes dramatically. Chloe was also from the Valley but was an outcast. She didn't fit the typical Valley girl look; she rocked the grunge style. Her hair color changed weekly, usually consisting of dark colors like black, red, or even green, which was her current color of choice. She was covered in tattoos and piercings, most of which were real. She mostly wore black but sometimes added red or other dark colors to the mix. She wasn't typically attracted to rich assholes either, but I couldn't blame her. Christian and his friend were on a different level of hot.

"Actually, I need a favor." She nodded, taking a bite of the disgusting slop the lunchroom called food. "Can you slip out of 7th period early so we can pull out right at dismissal?"

Christian hadn't kept his end of the deal, so I had no intention of keeping mine. I rolled my hair back up into my clip. I hated that I'd had to beg him for the weed in the first place, but Christian couldn't do any worse to me than Noah already did.

"Are you going to tell me what's going on?"

"Yes."

"Then, yes." She was a pain in the ass, but I loved her. She was not just my best friend but my only female friend.

The bell rang, dismissing lunch, and we gathered our stuff. "Do you think they're going to tell Noah?"

"Yep." And there was no telling how Noah would react to that information. I guess it depended on which personality I was dealing with when he found out. Noah hated everyone from the Northside of the tracks, especially the Chandler brothers. They weren't only dangerous; they had money to back them up, making them a threat to Noah, and if Noah thought I was fraternizing with the enemy, he would beat me ten shades of black and blue.

"I'll meet you in the parking lot early." Chloe waved me off as she disappeared into her class.

My class was on the opposite end of campus. The warning bell sounded, and the halls cleared as everyone piled into their classrooms. The familiar sound of boots pounding against the tile floor sounded behind me. Flicking a glance over my shoulder, I picked up my pace. Parker and Mason were hot on my heels.

Shit!

They saw Christian with me.

"Come on, Harper," Mason chanted. "Don't make me chase you."

"Fuck," I mouthed. I couldn't outrun them. There were two of them and one of me. I needed to make a decision quickly. I could run and end up in a place without witnesses, or I could stop here in the middle of senior hall surrounded by classrooms full of students and teachers. The chances of them hurting me here with so many onlookers was slim. They didn't have the same luxury the Valley Boys had. Money meant power and freedom in this town, and the Villa Boys had neither. The Valley Boys could get away with murder because everyone would turn their cheek, especially if they were eliminating the Villa trash. The Villa Boys didn't have the same opportunities.

"What do you want?" I halted, whipping around to face them. Parker and Mason Davis were fraternal twins. Both had dark hair and eyes with fair skin. Parker was a few inches taller than Mason, but what Mason lacked in height, he made up for in weight. Parker's long hair was down, and Mason wore his pulled back.
