"See you later." Sophia laughed, and Christian closed the door behind him.

"Is it a setup?" He dropped his gym bag by the door before his long fingers curled around my hips, pulling me into him.

"No." I smirked, looking up at him. "But I mean, she's single, and Link's single, so…" I shrugged dramatically. "Who knows what will happen?"

He rolled his eyes, leaning in to kiss my forehead.

Sinking onto the couch, I blew out a heavy breath as a smile spread across my face. We'd officially been in our new place for a year. School was great. I'd made new friends and gotten my first job offer at a local bar waitressing at night. Christian wasn't super thrilled, but he acted excited for me.

Christian stayed busy with school and his daily workouts and worked full-time remotely with Aiden for Chandler Enterprises.

My phone chimed.

"Hey." A smile spread across my face at the screen when Link's face appeared.

"Hey, What's up? You ready to party this weekend?"

"Of course."

"What's up, Link?" Christian said, stepping into view from over my shoulder.

"What's up?" he squealed in the bromance tone I'd gotten used to.

"My flight lands Friday at three p.m.," he said. "I'll text you my flight info tonight."

"Be warned," Christian chuckled. "Harper is planning to set you up with her new bestie."

"Harper," Link scolded. "Does Chloe know you have a new bestie?"

I laughed. "Chloe will always be my number one ride or die. And Chloe and Aiden will be here this weekend too."

"No shit," Link chuckled. "Hey, is your friend hot?"

"Yes," I said, my lips curling into a mischievous grin. Sophia was hot. She was tall, with long dark hair and big hazel eyes. She had flawless tanned skin and was smart and funny, and I knew that if she and Link met, they'd hit it off.

"Christian," Link called out. "Is her friend hot?"

"No way, man." Christian laughed. "I'm not going down that rabbit hole."

"Oh shit," Link said, his gaze flicking to the side. "I gotta go. See you guys Friday."

"See you Friday," I said.

"Oh, Harper," he interrupted. "Call Dad, or he will show up at your house."

"I'll call him tonight."

We disconnected, and I tossed my phone on the coffee table in front of me.

Things were so different now. I had people who cared enough to worry about me.

I tried to make a habit of calling my father once a week, but that usually wasn't enough for him. Chloe and I talked at least once a day, but we hadn't seen each other in over six months. I sometimes found myself missing parts of my old life, which was crazy because I would never go back and relive them, especially the days before Christian. I mostly missed my old friends, school, and the new friends I'd made after Christian. I missed crawling through Chloe's window and staying up all night talking. I missed hiding out in the bathroom with Ryder when I didn't want to go to class.

I knew once everyone showed up this weekend, those feelings would fade. I missed my friends and family.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?" Christian asked from the kitchen. "Do you want to go out, or do you want me to cook?"

The question was so easy, yet so complicated. Did I want to go out with Christian for dinner, or did I want him to cook something and stay home?
