“Say one more word, motherfucker, and I will stab you in the throat at the same time as I shoot your fucking cock off,” Gray bites, whipping out a damn blade and gun from nowhere and aiming them directly at the cunt beside him.

I want to chant for him to do it, but he just showed his hand to these fuckers.

“See,” Molly murmurs, a giggle ripping from her throat as she leans into the enemy. Declan laughs along with her, like Gray’s threat means nothing. A fact my brother isn’t going to appreciate.

His hand flexes around the handle, ready to follow through on his threat, when Shift bursts in from the back of the clubhouse, with Emily in tow. “They’re back.”

He doesn’t need to explain who or where, we already know.

Gray shoves at Declan to get out of the booth, catching him by surprise as he stumbles to the floor, Molly dropping with him. “What the fuck?” he grunts, but the three of us clamber over them without a backward glance toward the yard. There are more pressing matters than dealing with his shit.

Emmett somehow gets to the double doors first, nudging them open with his arm as we spill out into the yard with Emily and Shift behind us. Axel’s pickup truck rolls down the driveway, slowing to a stop a few feet away from us.

Axel turns to Scarlett in the truck with a frown pulling his brows together. Her head falls back in response, and her laughter echoes around us. I don’t know what the conversation is, all I know is she’s happy, and what the fuck is that? Is—

“Man, is Axel laughing too or am I tripping out?” Gray asks, rubbing at his eyes dramatically, and Emily chuckles.

“I didn’t even know he could do that,” she muses, and I mindlessly nod along with her statement. It’s a rare fucking sight, that’s for sure, but watching his shoulders relax and the tension leave his expression makes my chest clench.

Scarlett was right, they needed this. They needed this journey to maybe have a chance of coming together. Even if it just means they can tolerate being in the same room as each other, but the sparkle in both of their eyes tells me there’s more than the opportunity of friendship there.

The door squeaks behind me, but I don’t turn to look, enraptured by the pair of them in the truck.

“You need to be careful with that girl, Ryker.” I glance back to see Graham lighting a cigarette as he watches her intently.

“What makes you say that?” I ask, my muscles coiling with anger at the mere mention of her from his lips.

“She’s damaged goods.”

Shaking my head, I gaze at her as she steps out of the truck. “Aren’t we all?”

I can barely spit the words out, my throat is so tight, my body working overtime to stop myself from smacking the fuck out of the old man.

“She was raised by wolves, Ryker.”

“And now she fucks them.” Emmett’s words cut through the air as he chuckles, and when I turn to him, I can see the anger floating in his eyes. Someone clearly overheard Graham’s snippet of advice.

“Hey, Sweet Cheeks, I missed you,” Gray hollers and rushes to our girl's side. He lifts her and twirls her in the air.

“What, no spin for me?” Axel grunts, making me grin as I step toward him. His hand slaps mine like always, and the swift pat on the back seems longer this time. His body is saying what his mouth can’t. I don’t exactly know what he’s trying to express, but I’m here for him no matter what.

“I’m glad to see you both breathing,” I joke, leaning back and cocking a brow at him. He glares back at me just like I expected.

“Shut your mouth, Ryker.”

I act innocent as I search out Scarlett, desperate to get to her, but she’s wrapped up in Emily’s arms, so I give her a second before stalking toward her. She must sense me getting closer though, because her gaze finds mine when I’m a few steps away.

“Mr. President,” she sings, sending a jolt straight to my dick.

“You’re gross,” Emily mumbles, fake-gagging, and everyone laughs.

Pulling Scarlett into my arms, I hold her tightly to my chest, relieved to feel her there once again.

Home.

That’s where I feel like I am when she’s in my arms. It’s bizarre as fuck, but I crave it.

“Everything go okay?” I whisper in her ear as she tightens her arms around my neck.
