Circe shook his head. “Braxton is different than the others. He has his reasons, I guess, but as far as alphas go, he’s tough to keep happy, tougher to slip by, and he doesn’t let up easy.”
I was glad I wasn’t in Braxton’s territory as a shifter, if that was what he was like.
“Well, as long as everyone’s happy.”
“I think everyone’s happy,” Circe confirmed. “Can I let Kinley know you’re happy, too?”
I nodded. “Yeah, I think it’s a good idea. Kinley. What an unusual name.”
“Very,” Circe said. “But I think that’s part of her mystery. I don’t know why, but I have a good feeling about her.”
“Then that’s what we’ll do,” I said with a smile.
Circe nodded, just as Wesley popped his head into the door.
“I thought I heard your voice,” he said. “Emmie twisted my arm, so we’re making waffles for breakfast. Who’s in?”
“Oh, yes, please,” Circe said, jumping up immediately.
I laughed. “Yeah, we’re in.”
When I passed Wesley, he pulled me tighter against him and ground himself against me, nuzzling my neck.
“I’m holding you to our shower date later,” he growled in my ear.
I shivered. “Please, hold me to it,” I breathed.
Wesley kissed me on the lips, his tongue sliding into my mouth, probing until my toes curled. When he broke the kiss, I was flushed and grinning.
“Get a room,” Circe said with a smile, rolling her eyes.
I giggled, and Wesley nudged me forward, dropping a kiss on my shoulder before we all headed to the kitchen to make waffles, talk about the future, and play house together as the perfect family.
