“My bedroom. Yes, it is.”

She stares at the huge king-sized bed covered in black and gold silk. Mirrors are everywhere making it appear the room is treble its size, and she peers in astonishment at the full-sized bathroom that leads off it.

“I can’t believe this is real,” she says in wonder as I sit on the edge of the bed and stare at her with darkening eyes.

“Our contract.”

“What about it?”

She is still in awe of her surroundings and appears to only have half an ear on the conversation.

“I want to run over a few details before we go any further.”

“Okay.” She smiles and makes toward me, and I hold up my hand and say firmly, “Stay where you are.”

She falters and I say roughly, “You believe I don’t own you. That you have choices. That you can leave.”

“Well, don’t I?”

I shrug. “It’s just business and sometimes business changes. I know that.”

She appears confused by our conversation and I exhale sharply and say in a slower voice. “Purity. I asked you to trust me; several times, in fact. For this marriage to work, I need your unquestioning trust. You see…” I gesture around the room and say darkly, “I am a very wealthy man and with that wealth comes many enemies.”

“Enemies!” Her eyes are wide, and I nod, loving how uncertain she is right now. I remove my jacket and her eyes zone in on the gun and, removing it from the holster, I hold it reverently in my hand.

“I have protection. Both in bodyguard form and steel. There are many people who want to remove me from life and as my wife, you will be a target for them.”

“I will?” She bites her lip nervously and I say roughly, “If you believe walking away from me is the better option, think again. My enemies would easily find you and deliver you back to me in a coffin.”

The tears spring into her eyes and she looks so worried it amuses me.

“That is why you need to trust that I know what I am doing. Protecting you from those enemies and keeping you from harm. To protect and care for you and all I require in return is your company. To be the best wife a man could ask for and to follow my lead without question. I guarantee your safety and you take care of my physical needs. However–”

I shake my head in disgust. “Our marriage will be nothing like your parents’ one. I will treat you like a queen and give you the world. We will travel in luxury, and I will buy you whatever you desire. I will keep you safe and in comfort, and yet if you walk away, I cannot guarantee your safety.”

I appear to have struck the fear of God in her and her lip trembles as she whispers, “I’m sorry, Killian. I didn’t know.”

A rush of power floods through me as my world rights itself and I pat the space beside me and say darkly, “Then allow me to demonstrate how good this partnership will be.”

She nods and sits beside me nervously, and I experience a rush of power as I grasp her hair in one hand and pull her head sharply toward me. Her lip quivers as the pain intensifies, which turns me on so much, I pull a little harder.

“Ow.” She whispers as the tears glisten in her eyes, and I push the straps off her shoulders and caress her right breast with a soft touch.

She instantly groans and I whisper against her lips, “Do you want me, Purity?”

“Of course.” she whispers huskily, and I say darkly, “Will you do anything I ask?”

“Anything.” Her breath quickens, and a huge weight shifts as she comes right back to me.

The engines start and her eyes appear stricken, and I say in a low voice, “There is no way back now.”

Her breath races as her eyes darken with desire and I say roughly, “Strip for me.”

I release her and she stands nervously before me and, to her credit, removes her jumpsuit, revealing the silk underwear I had delivered in the package. It heats my blood as I view her trembling body, her face flaming as she waits for instruction.

I point to the floor and grunt, “Kneel.”

She doesn’t question me, and I bark, “Unzip my pants and take me in your mouth.”
