It was everything old and new, lost and found. I wanted to wrap her up and run away with her to have her all to myself for the rest of the day, or the entire week. I shoved my hand in her hair to hold her close, and our bodies were pressed against each other.

“Do you two need to take that to the office?” Sam, one of my bakers, asked. Emma and I parted, and her cheeks turned a stunning shade of red as she looked around the room. Both of us had forgotten we were in the presence of others, apparently.

“Um, I guess we need to remake these cookies?” She asked uncomfortably, her eyes still shifting around. I turned, glaring at everyone in the room. They all dropped their heads immediately, obviously having been watching us.

“We’ll finish the orders, and then I can’t promise I’ll let you out of my sight for a long time.” I push hair away from her face, wanting just to reach down and kiss her again. Her eyes were twinkling as she looked at me.

“I don’t want to be out of your sight. Ever again,” she responded, her eyes watering again.

As soon as a tear fell, I wiped it away. She was crying from happiness, and it made me want to do the same.

“I’ll hold you to that,” I promised, leaning down to press my kiss on her forehead. Then we got to work making cookies.

A year ago, I would have never dreamed that this would be my life. I thought that starting a bakery would give me another stream of income. That was as far as I thought it would go. I would move back to the island and have a quiet and relaxed life as my businesses generated that life for me.

Instead, I found something far greater. A love that I thought had been lost for so long.

Epilogue

“Stop fussing,” I told Liam, swatting at the hands that wouldn’t leave his tie alone. Compliments of me, the tie was the most beautiful pink color, matching his skin just as well as I thought it would. Not to mention it also matched the dress I was wearing.

“I just feel like I look ridiculous.” He reached for the tie again and I gave him a pointed look. Slowly, he lowered his hand.

“You look amazing. I promise, I won’t make you wear pink again…okay for a while. I can’t make that promise forever.” I adjusted the tie and pulled him from where he was seated on the edge of his bed.

“I’ll wear whatever color you ask me to, baby,” He said lowly, standing to his full height, which towered over me. He pushed me backwards until my back touched his bedroom wall, and then he leaned against the wall, caging me in. To say I was blushing would be an understatement.

His lips touched mine and instantly, I met them with passion. I wrapped my arms around his neck, plastering our bodies together as we kissed. Liam’s large hands pulled me in closer, looping around my waist as he deepened the kiss.

I pulled back suddenly, gasping as I remembered reality. Giggles poured out of me as I saw the bright pink lipstick all over his mouth, evidence of our kiss.

His eyes rolled in a knowing way. “Do I look good with the lipstick, too? Should I wear it to the opening?”

I clapped, bringing him back down to me. “Please do. It looks amazing on you.” And then we were kissing again.

Months of being together didn’t dull the burning love I felt for Liam. Thousands of kisses didn’t diminish the way they made me feel. I was obsessed and in love with this man.

For the past six months, we’d worked on joining our stores. At first, I thought that it would be simple. Just knock the walls out between us and buy some coffee beans and coffee machines.

But Liam had other plans. Bigger, better plans.

Instead of just doing something generic, he decided we would order our own coffee beans and have them branded to match the coffee shop. This extended to the coffee cups and holders. And getting special branded coffee beans wasn’t easy.

Nor was deciding on a name and a theme.

It would have been easy if we’d just made everything pink like my bakery, but even I thought that wasn’t good enough. And I loved everything pink.

So we’d done a lot of market research and found a theme that went well with my store but was still different. And we’d spent weeks perfecting the look. It had been weeks of pure fun.

During the gritty part of getting things done, we’d closed my online orders, which offered well-needed relief to everyone involved. Since the remodeling had started, Liam pushed his employees over into my space to work on online orders, and we had upped the capacity. To my surprise, the orders still sold out every week. It had been months now of selling out every week. It was crazy, but I couldn’t have been more grateful.

We documented a lot of our process on social media, because that was what our followers wanted. At this point, they were like family to us, and I loved nothing more than to include them. My follower count reached one million last week after a mega-viral video of me explaining our story to the internet. They hadn’t gotten the full picture before, only small tidbits here and there, and we’d decided it was time for them to get the entire run down. They loved it and demanded that we get married right now.

Which raised other questions, of course. Many fans were worried about what would happen if we ever broke up. My response to them was that it simply wasn’t an option and would never happen. Pessimists from all over the world seemed to have a different opinion, but I didn’t care.

Because we truly were never breaking up. I didn’t know exactly what the future held for us, but I was sure that I would never let him go. And I was sure that he would never let me go, either.
