The bald guy glanced around, then sniffed. “We’re not alone.”

Grayson casually strolled out from behind the van. “No, you’re not, and if you want to live, then you’re going to tell me who Johnathon is and where I can find him.”

His stance was loose, but there was nothing calm about the man standing between us and the two sick assholes.

Grayson was pulsing with rage and sexy as fuck as he growled. “Don’t make me ask twice. I won’t be as kind the second time.”

Leather jacket guy laughed. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”

I barely saw Grayson move before the idiot’s head was removed from his body. “I’m the guy you don’t want to fuck with when he’s already pissed off.”

Baldy tried to run away, but Lia and I were ready to snatch him. We each grabbed an arm and slammed him face-first into the van until I remembered the boy. Then we pinned him to the ground.

Grayson stalked forward, and the green flames in his irises that I was beginning to really enjoy made another appearance. He bent forward and grabbed the guy by the collar but kept him low.

“Where is Johnathon?” he snarled.

The smell of urine filled the air.

I gagged. “Seriously? That’s fucking disgusting.”

My knee pressed into the guy’s shoulder blade so that I could keep my nose as far from his stench as possible.

“I-I-I don’t know, man,” Baldy stammered. “I’m just getting started with this crew. They hardly tell me shit. I swear.”

I bent forward and gripped the collar of his shirt. “Where were you supposed to take the kid?”

“R-Right here and then Pete was going to take over next.”

I glanced at Grayson, who nodded, as if to confirm he believed the blubbering shifter.

“What do we do with him now?” Lia asked, looking between me and Grayson.

Since I wasn’t the professional kidnapper or killer here, I let him answer.

“If he doesn’t know anything, we have to kill him,” he muttered with annoyance.

Baldy wailed beneath us. “Please, don’t. I swear I won’t tell anyone what happened here today. I’ll say I gave Pete the kid and went on my way.”

With how easily Grayson had killed the other dude, I wasn’t sure he was in the “letting kidnappers go” kind of mood, but I previously hadn’t expected him to kiss me and stick his hand down my pants, either. Crazier things had happened in the last few days.

Grayson picked the guy up from the ground and held him in the air with one hand. “You’re coming with us.”

Baldy’s muddy eyes widened. “Why? Just kill me now if you’re not going to let me go.”

I scoffed. This asshole wanted mercy after he’d stolen a kid? Not fucking likely, but cool of him to think it was possible.

“You’re going with us to Fire and Fluorite,” Grayson said. “I want this kid’s parents to know who stole their son and let them decide what to do with you.”

“Watch out,” I shouted, but Grayson was already paying attention and he threw the dude back on the ground as Baldy vomited all over himself.

Apparently, fear took away the guy’s ability to control his bodily functions.

He used the bottom of his navy shirt to wipe his snot away while pulling his knees to his chest. “Please just kill me. I’m begging you.”

It seemed as if Grayson was tempted, but Lia stepped between them. “No, you were right. We need to take him with us.”

“I know that,” he muttered, bending down and grabbing the guy by the foot. “Take the kid in the jeep. I’ll tie this asshole up.”
