“I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.”

“I was hoping we could talk,” she said, and the smile fell away.

Great smile, but yeah, it was the lips. Fucking perfect.

“Sure thing,” I said, motioning back toward the office.

Once there, I shut the door, not prepared for the tantalizing scent that wafted lightly from her. She smelled like vanilla and a little bit sugary. For fuck’s sake, the girl smelled like she was made to be eaten. No wonder men looked at her like they were starving.

“I hope you don’t mind me just dropping by like this,” she said, leaning her back against the wall.

“Is that your way of flirting, darling?”

She smiled sassily and her pale hazel eyes lit up. “If I’m flirting, darling, you’ll know it.”

No doubt. The girl didn’t strike me as the bashful type.

“So, what’s up?” I asked.

“Gabe’s in Colombia with Cait and Nic. He suggested I swing by, maybe have a conversation.”

Yeah, I was going to have to strangle Gabe Costa.

“I’m not sure there’s much point in a conversation, but feel free to take a look at these,” I said, swinging the box up from beneath my desk and dropping it on top. I’d put all the photos back in it, but the piece of paper with the symbols on it was safely tucked away elsewhere. There was no way I’d be handing that over until I knew more.

Greta looked into the box, then grabbed a stack of photos, scanning through them one at a time.

Her brow furrowed a few pictures through. “Do you have any idea where these were taken?” she asked, eyeing each photo carefully like she was looking for something.

“No idea at all. The box showed up at the bar’s back door. No one saw who dropped it off.”

She nodded and hopped her ass up onto the desk, reaching for another handful of photos. If it weren’t for the creepy pictures in her hand, she would have looked like every naughty office fantasy come to life.

Thank fuck for those photos.

“You don’t recognize any of the people?” she asked.

I shook my head. Not because she’d made my mouth go dry, but because I didn’t feel like speaking.

Her brow furrowed again. “Then why would they want you to find these?” she asked, though it sounded like she was talking to herself. “There’s no chance any of them are affiliated with any of your club members? Family or associates, maybe? Even jail buddies?”

“No chance.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“Because they’re my brothers, darling. I know their business, and they know mine. If there was a reason for any asshole to be sending us this shit, I’d know about it.”

“All right, I’ll look into this. Do you mind if I—”

“I want in,” I said, shaking my head. There was no way those pictures were going anywhere until she’d given me her word.

She cocked an eyebrow at me. “Why? I didn’t realize the Old Dogs were big on search and rescue?”

I shrugged. “That shit was dropped on my back doorstep for some reason. I want to know why.”

She pressed her lips together, eyeing me like she was trying to see inside my brain. The look on her face said she was quite certain she’d find what she was looking for.

Or maybe you’re just being paranoid, asshole.
