"You don't, or humans in general don't?"

"I've never heard of it." It was lucky my stomach was more or less empty, because the idea was disgusting.

"I see." He seemed disappointed. "What about the urine of virgin girls?"

I grimaced. "Just water. Regular, well water."

"I had well water once. It tasted similar to piss." He frowned, thinking about that for a few steps before he shrugged. "Our water comes out of rivers and streams before it goes into the tap."

"Tap?" Wasn't that something people did with their hands? Usually to get the attention of other people.

"Yes, tap. Faucet? Don't know that either?"

I shook my head.

"Do you have toilets?" He'd started to look slightly alarmed.

I raised my hands to sign, then said out loud, "Yes. We have those."

"I don't mind if you use hand language," he said. "I learnt it a long time ago. I'm a little rusty, but if it's easier for you, go ahead."

"I should practice talking," I signed, relieved to fall back on something more familiar. "Where did you learn?"

"A small town on the border," he signed back. His gestures were awkward and stiff, but clear. "I spent some time at a temple there. One of the priestesses used to be a Silent Maiden. She taught me hand language and I taught her…other stuff." His cheeks turned slightly pink.

I made a gesture and they turned redder.

He cleared his throat. "Something like that, yes."

"I didn't know Fae could blush." I smiled slyly. I could easily forget he actually was Fae. He seemed sweet and warm. Friendly. For all I knew, most Fae were like him and not like Ryze and Vayne. And Dalyth.

"We can do all sorts of things," he said with a smile. "Can you sing?"

I was about to sign no, I couldn't, but I stopped. "I don't know," I signed instead. "I couldn't even hum until yesterday. Can you?"

I was more eager to talk about him than myself. He had to be a lot more interesting than I was.

"A little," he said out loud.

He took a breath and started to sing in a soft, but deep tone.

“In the landof the Fae queen,

Amidst the mist and clover,

A love was born, the bond a dream,

Two hearts entwined, forever.

My love,my Fae so bright,

Here with you, our love is made,

I ache for you, both day and night,

My love for you will never fade.

Through the grass,we dance and cry,
