The scent of dew and blooming flowers,

Mingle with the Fae's enchanting powers.

Their voices blendin a sweet refrain,

A melody that echoes through the glen,

As they sing of love and endless wonder,

Their hearts aglow, their spirits thunder.

The courtof dreams is a place of wonder,

Where the Fae reign and magic is stronger,

Come dance with them, beneath the moon,

And lose yourself in their sweet tune.

For in theCourt of Dreams, time stands still,

And all around is magic and thrill,

So close your eyes and take a chance,

And join the Fae in their wild dance.”

"That soundslike my kind of place," I said. "Music and dancing. Much more fun than trees trying to claw your eyes out."

"It shows the same place as the other map," Khala said. "If the two courts hated each other, then they weren't going to live on top of each other, right?"

"Right," Cavan agreed. He seemed to be lost in thought.

I couldn't deny how attractive he was. If Khala and I were able to coordinate our heats, we might have a lot of fun with both alphas. And Vayne. And Zared too.

Thinking about him made me as conflicted as Khala must have been. I missed him like an ache in my heart, but if he was content living his human life, then what right did I have to yearn for him at all? I should be happy for him. I wasn't, and that made me feel like a selfish prick, but it was what it was. No one ever said love was logical or even selfless.

We chose who we wanted to walk with on this road, and I chose him along with Ryze and Khala. Even if it wasn't meant to be.

"This might be nothing more to a clue as to the last spot they were before they wiped each other out," Vayne said.

"Or a warning to stay away," Khala added.

"Or a map leading to a huge vault where the treasure of those courts is buried," I said.

"I hate to say it," Ryze said, "but that seems unlikely. Although, it would explain why I have both the maps here. What other court could be trusted with a secret like that?"

"The other courts might be smart enough to solve the riddle." Cavan smirked.

Ryze raised an eyebrow at him. "Interesting theory, but with absolutely nothing to back it up." He smirked in return.

"We can all agree the Winter Court is a better place for them than the Autumn Court," I said.

"Under its current High Lord, yes," Cavan said. "Harel would have these burnt."

"If it means going into the mist, I'm not sure he'd be wrong to do that," Ryze said. "I like an intrepid adventure as much as the next man, or woman, but that place isn't right."

"You don't have to go if you don't want to," Cavan told him. "I'll go with a contingent of my people. If you're lucky, I might tell you what we find."
