I tip my face back to his. “I will miss our mornings the next few days.”

“Why would you miss them?”

“Because my parents and I are staying at my house.” I assume he already knew this.

His smug grin forms a hard line, his eyes growing dark. “I’ll stay with you.”

My stomach plummets and I shake my head a little too forcefully. “There’s no way.”

“Why is that?” His tone is sharp.

“Because my dad will be there.”

“So?”

“My dad may need some time to come to terms with all this. He’s already itching to feel out the situation between us.”

“Feel out our situation?”

“Yeah.”

“Meaning get eyes on our relationship and make sure I’m treating his daughter right?”

“Something like that,” I mutter.

“See how into her I am and scope out my intentions?”

I nod, feeling ridiculous.

“He won’t have to look too hard. I’m pretty obvious.”

“Dad can be a little… harsh. You’ve only been around him a few times, and two of those were times of crisis. Harley’s wedding was a time of celebration. But now, knowing what you are to me, it’s different.”

Ford’s grin returns. “I’m not afraid of your dad, Rowan. Trust me on this, he won’t have a problem with it. Plus, I already gave up my room for the weekend.

“What do you mean?”

“With Tera taking up a room, we’re down a guest room. I gave my room to Mom and Dad. Addie and Carson will share another room, and the Kellers are staying, too.”

I hadn’t thought about all the visitors and sleeping arrangements. It makes sense, but something still seems off. “You’re not staying here with your family?”

“Rowan, in the next few hours, all the families are descending into Nashville. The men are looking to drink beer, eat well, watch sports, and shoot the shit. These women are teaming in here with nothing but the wedding on their mind.”

“You tired of the wedding events?”

“My woman, my wedding—I’m here. Otherwise, not my scene. Us guys have the rest under control.”

“I don’t want your parents to think I’m taking you away from them. Doesn’t it seem odd to vacate your house and stay with us?”

“It’s only an issue if you make it an issue. The way I see it, I’ll be spending quality time away from this madhouse with you and your parents.”

We are in LOVE with this man! A voice in my head chants over and over, threatening to spew from my lips.

“I’ll call my parents this morning.”

“You do that.” His eye dance with mischief, setting my senses on alert.

“You’re very cocky for a guy who’s about to spend the weekend with your new girlfriend’s father.”
