“I own the hotel. I can do anything.” His eyes dance with mischief.

Far below, traffic is a sea of red and white lights. I can only imagine the bustle of activity, even at this hour.

But up here, it’s just the two of us.

And a shit-load of flowers.

Elliott reaches across the table and takes my hand. “I know we haven’t been together that long, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. I can’t even remember a time before you came into my life. You are the one person who makes me feel most alive, and I want to spend every day with you for the rest of our lives.”

He pulls a small velvet box from his pocket and places it on the table before getting down on one knee.

My heart races, and I instinctively clasp my hands over my chest.

“Kaitlyn, I love you,” he says, his voice chokes with emotion. “Will you marry me?”

I stare into Elliott’s eyes, unable to believe what I’m hearing. I can feel my heart racing and tears coming, once more, to my eyes. I nod my head. This is the happiest moment of my life.

“Yes, I will marry you.”

He takes my hand and slides a ring onto my finger. It’s a beautiful huge diamond solitaire that sparkles in the candlelight. He stands and pulls me into his arms, sealing our engagement with a passionate kiss that quickly lights me up like the Fourth the July, Christmas, and my birthday all rolled into one.

We spend the remainder of the night dreaming of our future together while feasting on New York pepperoni pizza and washing it down with only the best champagne.

Every moment I spend with this man fills my heart with more love. I can already tell this is it. We are meant to be together forever, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I never would have thought a fifty/fifty draw would allow me to indulge in a spontaneous trip to the Big Apple, which would lead to a fling with a billionaire who would end up being the man I intend to spend the remainder of my days with.

But here I am. And I couldn’t be happier.
